2 April 2016 What s Happening in April and May? Mark your calendars now to attend these events. Spring has sprung! The temperatures are starting to warm up and we are seeing some absolutely beautiful days! There are lots of ways to get involved with your LCCOG family this spring. Join us for one or all of these fun and meaningful events. On April 18th we will host our first monthly Community Prayer Night. Each month on the third Monday we will host a Community Prayer Night during the regularly scheduled prayer meeting (Mondays at 7 PM). This prayer meeting is open to all churches and our entire community. As background music is playing, selected prayer leaders will pray about the biggest issues facing our community and everyone will join in corporate prayer lead by the Holy Spirit. Other prayer leaders will be stationed at the altar to pray for anyone who needs prayer individually. On Saturday, April 30th we will meet at Golden Corral at 8 AM for a Women s Fellowship Breakfast. After purchasing your meal go directly to the Banquet room for prayer and a devotion before we eat. Hospice Fun Run The Mission of is: Connecting our community to our God by presenting the gospel in a way that non-christians and hurting people become whole individuals who love God, love people, and serve our community by going back into the world and healing others who are hurting without God. On April 9th we will demonstrate the love of God by handing out water bottles at the Hospice Fun Run in Leonardtown. Our goal is simple - to show our community the love of Jesus by serving them. We ll be wearing #teamlccog shirts and smiling as we hand out water to participants in the event. If you want to serve with us but missed the sign up sheet, contact the church office for details it s not too late! 2

3 April 2016 Spring Into Action Pastor s Corner As you heard on Easter Sunday, Christianity has grown from twelve followers to 2.4 billion today. How did it grow? It grew because Disciples of Christ believe they have good news for everyone. Disciples of Christ do not share this good news in their own wisdom or power; they share it in the power of the Holy Spirit. The population of our community is growing by the day. It is also suffering more under the burdens of addiction, abuse, and hatred. In other words, our community needs and wants our church to step up to the challenge of reaching the lost, helping the needful, and healing the hurts they are experiencing today. Every believer should trust God, love others, and live according to His commandments. One of His commandments is GO MAKE DISCIPLES!!!!! Today is the day to stop wallowing in your defeat. Today is the day to stop living for yourself. Today is the day to stop doubting. Today is the day to stop complaining. Today is the day to say no to Satan and to stand up as victorious believers in Christ! Today is the day to break away from your life draining addictions to alcohol, TV, drugs, gossip, codependence, and your victim mentality. Today is the day to live holy, victorious lives. Today is the day to be a contributor instead of a consumer. Today is the day to invite everyone to Life Community Church. Today is the day to share your faith. Divest from your preoccupation with worldly pleasures and start investing in the Kingdom of God right here at Life Community Church of God. This church is good soil. All you have to do is plant your seed. Pray for me, Pastors Bob and Chrissy Cooney, Evaristo Gonzalez, and Jeff Weimert, as well as each department and ministry leader as we transform our church to grow through evangelism, discipleship, worship, and community service. Join the parade of people who love Life Community Church of God and are willing to help us grow. 4 April 2016 Save the date! This year our church picnic is in May! On Saturday, May 14 th we will meet at Cecil Park for good food, fun games and GREAT fellowship. The Delmarva DC Women s Conference is April 8 th & 9 th at Heritage Community Church in Severn, MD. If you would like to register, please contact the church office. The cost for the conference is $35. Start thinking about what side dish or dessert you will bring sign up sheets will be available in the foyer as the date approaches. If you are staying overnight for the conference you will need to make your own arrangements for hotel and meals. 4
