2 JOYAIRES a(just Older Youth) Happy New Year from the Joyaires! We pray that the beauty of the Christmas season is still present and will remain with you in the New Year The Joyaires will meet for their bi-monthly meetings during the year. This means a delicious breakfast followed by a short devotion, prayer, and games. If you are 55 or older, we invite you to join us. In December, 34 members of our group went to Zio s for lunch. What a time of fun and fellowship! Our January meetings will be on Tuesday, January 13 and Tuesday, January 27 at 9:00 A.M. in the Fellowship Hall. We plan to continue our Outreach projects this year. This includes the Grief Ministry Baskets, card and gift ministry to shut-ins, etc. May this new year be filled with love, joy, and peace from all the Joyaires. Harold & Mary Rains, Directors Wednesday Class Schedule beginning January 14 The Grave Robber - Fellowship Hall A - Patrick O Brien - In the seven DVD sessions, author Mark Batterson takes us on a journey to the Holy Land, to the very spots Jesus chose to reveal His power through miraculous signs. He shares true stories of modern-day miracles and brings to light the countless miracles we take for granted. Miracles are not simply something Jesus did in the past; they're something He wants to do today, in the present. Choir - Choir Room - Anita Higgins Getting Healthy Spiritually and Physically! (For Men and Women) - Hearth Hall- You can hear relevant teaching from Pastor Steve, Bob Boyer, Aline Bristol (Health and Wellness Earlywine YMCA), and many more professionals in the health and fitness industry. Being healthy is about more than just eating right and exercise; it s about your physical life, your emotional life, and your spiritual life all being healthy together. This will be a great class to be encouraged, inspired, and held accountable to the life changes you want to make to Get Healthy!!! 3 Youth News Jerrod Nunn I hope you enjoyed your Christmas break! 2015 is upon us and I know we are going to have an amazing year. We have cool things in the planning stages and I can t wait to see what God is going to do in our lives, Youth Ministry, and families! January Sunday, January 4 Student Leaders Meeting 5:00-7:00 Pastor Jerrod s & Haley s House, Village Ln. - If you have been attending our Student Leaders Meeting during the fall, make sure you are there to help us get our new year off to a good start. You get to help plan our activities and help us shape the future of our Youth Ministry. I hope to see you all there! Wednesday, January 7 Shartel Shape Up Kick-off Celebration 6:30-7:30 P.M. - Wednesday Night Classes start off with a bang! We have a very cool night planned! Kenny O Neal from TV Extreme Weight Loss Challenge will be at our church to tell his story! He has a great testimony of how God broke through his food addiction and started him down the path of reclaiming his health. All adult and youth classes will be attending this awesome night! Sunday, January 11 House Church 5:00-7:00 P.M. - The first House Church of the new Pastor Jerrod s & Haley s House - Don t miss it! Sunday, January 25 House Church 5:00-7:00 P.M. Pastor Jerrod s & Haley s House February February State Youth Convention at Renaissance Hotel in Tulsa, OK! Abraham Wright from FCA Oklahoma City and Chaplain of OU Football team is our speaker! The total cost of the trip is $125 (due by January 14.) This cost covers registration to the event, lodging, transportation, T-Shirt, special Saturday night activity and Saturday and Sunday breakfast. (This cost does not cover other meals or merchandise.) If that cost is a problem for your family at this time there are partial scholarships available! We want every youth to be able to attend this fun and life changing weekend! February 15 - Show The Love Valentine s Dinner and Silent Auction Fundraiser - 2:00 P.M. Set Up & Decorating (All Youth and Leaders) - 5:00 P.M. Dinner. We need you to sell tickets and get items for the Silent Auction! This is a big fundraiser for International Youth Convention and we need your help to be successful! Youth and parents, one last piece of important information to get on your calendars! Jamaica Missions Trip!!! July Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Cost is TBD we are working out some details now. We will announce when the parents information meeting will be! If you are thinking about going you will need to start the process of getting a passport asap! I can guarantee it will be a life changing trip! Men s Ministry Men s Breakfast Saturday January 17th! 8:00 A.M. Enjoy a great breakfast, fellowship with other men, and an encouraging word to get your Saturday and 2015 started off right! Exercise Classes We re Back! Starting Sunday, January 11 and Wednesday, January 14, we will be holding our Zumba Classes and Biggest Loser Classes in the gym. Classes start at 8:00 P.M.! Come burn calories, get in shape, and have fun working out with your friends! This is a great place /opportunity to invite your neighbors or gym buddies to exercise and get to know some of your church family. See you there!

4 The 2015 ANNO DOMINI Challenge Anno Domini means the year of The Lord. Let s MAKE IT that kind of year! I m challenging the adults and youth of our congregation to spend the year with Jesus! I ll be preaching the entire year from the gospels exploring the life, ministry and teachings of Christ. But I m offering a few other challenges to help us really FOCUS on Jesus this year. Will YOU accept that challenge? Choose at least 3 other ways of focusing on Jesus from the following list: 1. Commit to do the 100 Essential Jesus reading during Commit to watch a movie each month about the life and teachings of Christ from our video library (or find your own!). 3. Commit to memorize one verse of scripture each week during the 52 week preaching on Christ. 4. Commit to read or listen to a book a month about Jesus or His teachings from our church library (or choose your own!). 5. Commit to do the two 40 Day Devotionals in 2015 that we provide, one leading up to Easter and the other leading up to Christmas. 6. Commit to attend 2 of the 4 Wednesday night classes on Jesus we offer during Commit to reading the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) during 2015 (You may take one of our pew bibles if you need one!) Everyone who signs up for the challenge will receive one of our Anno Domini T-shirts as a memento of their participation! Sign up anytime now through January to begin the challenge. 5 Shartel Shape Up Weight Loss & Work Out Challenge January 7 - March 13, 2015 Are you ready to reclaim your health, your body, and your life? Are you ready to be motivated to lose weight, work out and make some decisions to change your life forever? Then Get Ready for the Shartel Shape Up challenge! Anyone 18 years and older is welcome to participate! There are 4 Categories you could possibly win in: Total Weight Loss % - The top winners who lose the most weight by their total weight percent. Total Weight Loss - The top winners who lose the most total pounds. Sign-In Participation - Everyone who signs in every Friday will get their name entered into the Total Participation Drawing. Work Out Warrior - Keep track of how long you exercise (run, walk, gym, etc.) each week and receive 1 point for every 30 minutes you exercise. Ex. You exercised Monday for 1 hour and Tuesday for 1 1/2 hours you receive 5 points! The top people in total exercise points wins! *Each participant can win only 1 prize! Sign In: Fill out the form available in the church lobby and either drop it in the offering plate, take it by the Welcome Center, or give it to Pastor Jerrod by January 7.
