You ll experience great programming for all ages, wonderful food, fun in the sun, lively fellowship and a Friday night outdoor worship concert with Peder Eide! As an added bonus, your children will rehearse a musical during the week and perform it on the last day of camp. 3 July Leading Jesus Way: Servant Leadership Author and Servant-Leadership Consultant Mark Deterding will teach us in following Jesus example of leadership building with a foundation of faith and focusing on relationships and character. Serve at a whole new level, with purpose, focus and clarity to impact your family, your community, your workplace and your world. Teacher: Mark Deterding Preachers: Dan Baker, Jonathan & Jana Swenson Guest Worship Leaders: Lynn Stoneking and Band Family Camps July 28- August 3 Making a Difference: Five Who Were Faithful Nehemiah, Hezekiah, Hannah, Barnabas, Ananias are five hidden figures of the Bible who, though lesser known, serve as models of faithfulness and teachers of truth. As God inspired these faithful five to make a difference for His people in their day, God now leads us to make a difference in ours. This week will empower and encourage you to impact your families, coworkers, friends and neighborhoods with the love of Jesus. Come and dig into the foundations of savlvation history as together we explore key Old Testament texts including passages from Genesis, Exodus, Isaiah and Jonah. 4 September Women s Retreat and Men & Boys Fishing Weekend (Two separate events, held on the same weekend.) Adult Camps The Men & Boys Fishing Weekend is mainly about one thing. You guessed it. Fishing!! We will have great meals, lunchtime devotions, and evening fellowship as well, but it s mostly about being out in the beauty of God s creation, enjoying the sport and the camaraderie of other Christian guys. August LBI-GVLC Reunion This camp is especially for alumni, family and friends of the Lutheran Bible Institute / Golden Valley Lutheran College. Phil Blom and Ali Tulu will lead, along with Peter and Vicki Schmidt, Paul Harrington, Joanne Hansen and others. Design your own retreat, get-away or family reunion August Out of the Whirlwind: Creation and Wonder in the Book of Job The Old Testament book of Job addresses issues of pain and suffering. It also helps us better understand humanity s place in this beautiful and wild world that God has created. Teacher: Kathryn Schifferdecker Preacher: Laurie Neill August The Story of God s Salvation in Luke-Acts Beginning with songs of God s salvation and concluding with Paul s sea journey to the imperial city of Rome to stand trial for proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, Paul Berge will help us explore this wondrous story of God s empowering Spirit continuing to call and lead us to faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Teacher: Paul Berge Preacher: Steve Dornbusch September Body and Soul: Adult Camp for Active Adults Come join us for this new camp format where we will enjoy the beauty of God s creation on hikes, biking trails, kayaking and more. After morning praise and devotions, the rest of the day is dedicated to active outings and adventures. Our evenings will be filled with the study of God s Word, worship, laughter and learning. 5 Lodging Options Tier 1- Lodge Room Located in the Lodge retreat center, these 10 rooms along the lake have air conditioning, wireless internet, and combinations of queen and twin beds; some may also include bunk beds. Linens (towels and sheets), blankets, and pillows are provided. The motel-style rooms have a bathroom (toilet, sink, and shower) in each room. Four of the rooms are handicapped accessible. Tier 2 - New Cabin Constructed from these six cabins each have two bedrooms, a bathroom (toilet, sink, and shower) and a combined living room/kitchen. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has two twin beds; additional bedding available in the living room. Each cabin is equipped with cooking facilities, utensils, dishes, and charcoal grills. Blankets and pillows are provided. Linens (towels and sheets) are available. 1 2 Tier 3 - Remodeled Cabin These recently updated cabins are either one or two bedrooms with bathroom (including shower.) Some cabins have kitchen facilities. Blankets and pillows are provided. Eight tarred drive-thru RV campsites or five tarred camper trailer sites are available with full hookups (water, electricity, and sewer.)
