A Fruitful Harvest is for those in the Sandwich Generation (caring for aging parents and welcoming grandkids) led by my friend, Joel Warne. We will be covering the beauty and challenges in the seasons of aging. What losses do I feel in this season? From empty-nester blues, to parents needing care or dying, to sorrow over missed opportunities in relationships, careers, etc. How can I affirm the reality of these losses while being open to the precious diamonds hidden in them? What treasures in Christ are producing in me? To what members of the next generation would I love to bequeath the treasure that my decades in Christ are forming in me? 4 Youth Group 2017 has proved to be a busy and fruitful year. I have so enjoyed going to our students extra-curricular activities from basketball games, to robotics tournaments, to one-act plays. We have such a talented bunch of young people! We continue on with weekly Youth Groups, Confirmation classes, Dig Deeper Huddles. I also love getting to meet with the kids in small groups and one-on-one. I want to express my gratitude to the Confirmation mentors. It has been a joy to hear about the relationships that are growing and the encouragement being given by both sides. As we look towards different ways of being an intentional intergenerational church, this is definitely a foundational stepping stone in this process. When I think about the older (more mature) men and women who poured in to my life as a younger person, I am clearly able to see how their words of wisdom helped lead me to become the person I am today. There is such power in these mentor relationships! In February, we joined the Young Adult Small Group in playing broomball after church. A fierce competition! Our Youth also attended a city-wide youth event called BLOB with over 600 other teenagers from the St. Cloud community. Our very own August Kerwin played bass on the worship band! We are looking forward to attending the District Blitz Retreat in Duluth in April. In March, we will be doing a fundraiser to help with the costs.more information to come about this.but one hint flamingos! Thank you for your prayers and support! With joy, Rachel
