After Children s Gathering during the worship service, children are invited to age-appropriate spiritual formation through Bible stories, music, crafts and other fun stuff. Prayer Time: Each Sunday at 9:10am, a group meets in the overflow room to pray for the future of this congregation. Please join us in prayer. Pastor Randy & Ann are at St Louis Fellowship today for the dedication of their grandson. Speaker TODAY is Jocelyn Busick from Care Portal. She and her husband, Darren, live in Buhler and attend Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church. She was a child welfare worker for several years. Shortly after becoming involved with Care Portal, God asked her to go beyond head knowledge of the need and the system by bringing hurting children into their home and walking with their families. They became foster parents, took a lifechanging trip to Haiti, and are now on a broken, beautiful, messy and incredible Jesus adventure. 2

Pray for our congregation during this time of transition. Pray for healing and unity in our nation. Pray for our Mission partner, Jake Herrel. Remember the family of Michael Sharp from Hesston, who was kidnapped and killed as he served in the Congo. Pray for Pastor Randy s family in OH as they deal with the loss of a family member. Pray for Stan Funk as he deals with leg issues. Lou Hundley is still in the hospital, pray for healing. Ben & Jan s son-in-law, Jim, has been diagnosed with melanoma after having a mole removed. Needs to have a lymph node removed also. Eric s friend, Sandy Wheeler, recently celebrated her 40 th anniversary. She is slowly losing function of her hands, and needs to find a new way to communicate. Pray for the tension in North Korea. Rod s wife is from there, and has had two relatives taken. 4

5 FIRST MENNONITE ANNOUNCEMENTS Sponsor a camper: It s time to think about sponsoring a camper for summer camp. Please designate your check for this and place in the offering plate. Thanks for sponsoring our campers! Campers: Be sure to let Amber, Marianne or Cora know that you want to attend, and get your application sent in early bird registration discount ends May 1. School Kits: Please keep the Ticonderoga or Dixon pencils & pink Pearl erasers coming. Pencils need to be unsharpened. In April we are collecting flexible plastic rulers also. Or feel free to give designated offerings for school kits & we'll do the shopping for you! Faith Inquiry will resume NEXT SUNDAY and go through May. This elective Sunday School class, taught by Pastor Randy, is a class for those considering baptism, but is also open to anyone of any age who wish to be part of the class. It is primarily a Bible survey using God s Story, Our Story by Michelle Herschberger. Meals on Wheels: NEXT SUNDAY. First Mennonite is responsible for delivering Meals on Wheels when there is a 5 th Sunday in a month. If you would like to help deliver, please contact Gary Stucky. WIDER CHURCH PRAYER REQUESTS Ben & Laurel Woodward Breckbill serve as Mennonite Mission Network interns in Belfast alongside peacebuilders at Mediation Northern Ireland (Ben) and WAVE Trauma Centre (Laurel). Pray for them as they learn to share the good news with people who have experienced trauma, and to work together with them for justice. (MMN) Thank God for the gift of music as the EMU Chamber Singers give their spring concert this evening. Pray that all in attendance would be blessed. (MEA) 5

Bryan is an itinerant Bible teacher & musician with an engaging presentation style & songs for all ages. The concert is free, but a freewill offering will be taken to support the Goessel Ministerial Alliance. Community Hymn Sing: TODAY, 6:30pm, First Mennonite Church of Christian. Featuring songs of Fanny Crosby. The Moundridge Senior Singers will sing some of her lesser known songs, & everyone is invited to join in singing the well known favorites. KS Mennonite Men s Chorus Concerts: NEXT SUNDAY, 4:30pm, Bethany College Presser Hall, & May 7, 7:00pm, Hesston High School. National Day of Prayer: May 4, noon-1pm, First Christian Church. This years theme is For Your Great Name s Sake, Hear Us Forgive Us Heal Us from Daniel 9:19. Join the community in gathering to pray for our government, schools, first responders & others at local, state & national levels. Moderated panel discussion focusing on issues that affect refugees & immigrants in Kansas & Harvey County, with a question & answer time to follow. He will be in town but not necessarily in the office, on Wed & Thurs afternoons.
