5 Fabulous Opportunity for Hai# Double your contribution! One of our parishioners has generously offered a matching grant of up to $10,000 to be used for livestock in Haiti. Funds up to $10,000 will be matched by this grant so every dollar is important. If you give $20, the livestock program will receive $40. We will be collecting after all the Masses on May 30 & 31, but donations can be made at the Parish Office at any time.

Don t Miss an Evening with Hady Mendez Wednesday, June 3, 6:30 pm Hady Mendez has been a SMM parishioner since moving to Florida in January, Following an amazing experience with a JustFaith community here in the parish, she decided to join Franciscan Mission Service in the Fall of Last January, she moved to Cochabamba, Bolivia where she has been living and working for the last year and a half. On the evening of June 3 she will be returning to Winter Park to share her mission experience with all those who are interested. She will talk about learning the language, experiencing culture shock, working in prison, living in community, and will share many heart-warming (and eye opening!) stories of her life in Bolivia. If you are interested in learning more about what it s like to live and work alongside humble people in a developing country, please mark your calendar. There will Also be small items for sale (made by the women prisoners and ex-prisoners) as well as a light supper. We hope to see you there! People Are Hungry Every Day Pantry: This week please shop for canned pasta, pancake syrup, canned meat (Spam, stew or chili) and deodorant. And, of course, any of the buy one-get one specials at your local store.. Please bring your donations to the parish hall when you come to Mass or bring them directly to the Pantry during the week. Please call for directions. Thank you! St. Margaret Mary is part of a long-time coalition of churches and synagogues that support this pantry run by the Christian Service Center. Its official name is the Winter Park Christian Service Center, serving people in Maitland, Eatonville and Winter Park. Redeemer Lutheran Church on Aloma Avenue kindly provides the space for the pantry at no charge. Our ushers put a representative amount of donations in the basket that is carried up to the altar; usually the total donations for a weekend fill three overflowing shopping carts. What do Homeless Families Need Most? Jobs! The men and women who are part of Family Promise (IHN) would love to find work. Family Promise has multiple resources to assist with obtaining employment, the families have searched, and Maggie Townsend, the Family Promise case manager, sends them on every lead she receives, but it is still hard to secure an interview when you do not have a large personal network. If you or any managers you know would be willing to interview our men and women (for any job), please contact Maggie, maggietownsend@familypromiseorlando.org. Maggie would love to explain why the men and women in our program deserve an interview and chance at work! Current families all have either an AA degree, Bachelors degree, or Masters. They each desperately want to find work, and it is proving to be very difficult. If you would like to help, this is where we need it the most! Baby Basics: Sometimes parishioners ask if Baby Basics accepts partial packs of diapers; we answer with a resounding yes. We have babies of nearly all sizes: 1 wears size newborn; 3 wear size 1; 8 wear size 3; 8 wear size 4; 14 wear size 5; and, 8 wear size 6. The next time you are shopping why not pick up a pack of diapers for Baby Basics! With a simple pack of diapers you are giving hope to low income working families in our neighborhood. Please mark the diapers for Baby Basics & leave them at the front office. Thank you!

Take home a new buddy each day to help you remember the Bible stories that you have heard. Don t miss out. Registration forms need to be turned into the Office of Faith Formation for Children in the next two weeks. Children entering four-year-old preschool through sixth grade this fall are welcome, and the fee is $30 per child. Forms may be printed online or obtained from the church, school or information cart. Leaders for Vaca on Bible Camp Sunday, June 7, 10:45 am in the Bethany/Cana Rooms We will hold training for all leaders to familiarize you with the program. All leaders should have been contacted by mail and should return forms to the Office of Faith Formation for Children. Any leader fifteen and older who has not been fingerprinted must refer to the instructions for fingerprinting on the SMM or diocesan website. We will pay for this process. Services Available Rental Assistance for Elders and/or People with Disabili es--the Orange County Housing and Community Development Division will be accepting pre-applications for individuals who are interested in obtaining housing under the Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) Program. This rental assistance program, which similar to the Section 8 program, is for elders and/or people with disabilities. There will be 5 days to complete an online application, June 1 (beginning at 12:01 am) until June 5 (at 11:59 pm) The application will not be accessible except for these five days. Important: mark your calendars if you are interested in applying. Sharply at 12:01 a.m. on June 1 st the website, will open up. Each year, Catholic Charities of Central Florida (CCCF) presents the Hope and Opportunity Award to individuals and organizations who exhibit exemplary compassion and care for those in need by partnering with Catholic Charities to help the poor and suffering in our community. This year we are honoring two men from St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Allan Keen will receive our Individual Award and Kevin Hagen will receive our Spirit of Services Award from Joseph Buranosky, CCCF executive director, and Christopher Gardner, Chairman of the Board at the HeARTS Give Hope: Food, Wine & Art Event on June 12. We invite you to celebrate with us and enjoy an inspiring evening of hope to honor these two men who truly exemplify the Gospel message of Love. We honor Alan, for his outstanding advocacy, guidance and sponsorship for multiple program initiatives and events. We honor Kevin, for his dedication and ongoing support each year during our Christmas concert series to raise awareness and funds to support our programs that prevent homelessness.
