This is a national event that helps us grow in our understanding of God s very special love for the poor. It s also an opportunity for each of us to interrupt the cycle of poverty and make a difference in the life of at least one child. AWANA GRAND PRIX The AWANA Grand Prix is next Saturday, February 24, with T&T racing at 9AM and Sparks racing at 12PM. We need help including design judges, table monitors, check-in, and more. Please contact Alisha (406) if you can volunteer 2-4 hours of your time. WORSHIP NIGHT We are excited to gather together for a night of modern worship to celebrate all the great things about our Lord. This night won't conform to our normal weekend worship service, but be a bit freer, with some extended worship through music, guided prayer, and some brief teachings. Let s gather and proclaim the Lord's greatness together on March 2 at 7pm. DESSERT MEET & GREET Are you newer to Easthaven? 3 WEEKLY PRAYER SHEET 02/18/2018 Carmen DeVries Assisting church planting by teaching missionary kids in Papua New Guinea Do you say I can t do that, or I haven t mastered that yet? As a teacher, I want students to be life-long learners. I also want them to have the perseverance to keep going when one idea fails. Keep on trying; be creative, and think of another solution. I guess that applies to me as well. This past month, I have added woodshop class to my schedule. It is something I wanted to learn and the class period coincides with my prep period. So far, I have been drafting and drawing while the high school students around me work on the machines and build beautiful projects. I am a semester behind, but it has been so good for me to step into the role of learner, to persevere at a new task, to handle frustration in learning. Becoming a master craftsman does not happen overnight, so I keep on learning. In two tribal locations, there is another learning curve. Imagine as an adult, learning to read and write for the first time. The class is open to the whole village. Talk about a learning curve. Please pray for the people of Amdu and Kadje as they become learners on a whole new scale. Pray for the people to be eager to learn. Pray also for the missionaries as they teach and prepare lessons. An answer to prayer: The Watters family have agreed to be our dorm parents next year. Pray for them as they prepare for this ministry. We d love to pray for you! Folks in our church have lost between 20-30lbs, triglycerides have been lowered from 156 to 86, cholesterol lowered from 180 to 159. All ages are encouraged to join us!
