2 ANNOUNCEMENTS CHILDREN S MINISTRY TRANSITION We so appreciate all that Pastor Dean has done for the Children s Ministry, but as Glacier Bible College is set to start September 2018, he will transition into recruiting students, raising funds, and finalizing curriculum. We are excited to announce that Alicia Scofield (who was working in our front office) will take over as Director of Children's Ministry. Lesli Frost will take over as the Director of Preschool Ministry. Both are part-time positions. We look forward to what God will do in this new season! 3 WEEKLY PRAYER SHEET 12/31/2017 Why Pray As A Family? The nuclear family has come under attack in recent years in this nation. There are evil forces trying to pull families apart and distort the concept of what a family is. These forces are spiritual, and it is futile to fight this kind of battle with natural weapons. We need supernatural assistance to overcome them. We cannot do this in our own power! If we are going to experience lasting change, we need to push back against the opposing forces of our culture and invite God s transforming presence into our homes. God has an answer. The power released through prayer is what can make the difference. A few things in life really matter. One of those is family. Most people put average effort into too many things, rather than superior thought and extraordinary effort into a few important things. The decision to make family prayer a top priority in the home is one of those small decisions that will produce massive results. It can bring about the things that matter most: a vibrant relationship with the Lord, a close-knit family that is growing spiritually, and a home where patience, joy, and love are practiced and the presence of God is experienced. 5 WINTER QUARTER 2018 Classes begin January 3 THURSDAY MORNING CLASSES THE QUEST (Beth Moore s Newest Bible Study) Facilitator: Marcia Location: Room 206 Time: 10-11:30AM Cost: $13 Ladies, please join us in this short six-week study, a cross between a curriculum and a journal: a classroom and a prayer closet. There are three objectives: promote deeper intimacy with God, foster a sojourner mentality as comfort that we are only passing through this world, and to foster an adventurer-mentality as subjects of royal blood unrecognized by the world, but headed to an unshakable kingdom worth the arduous trip. CANCELLED TRIM HEALTHY MOMMA (& Daddy too) Facilitator: Susie Newton Location: Room 401 Time: 10-11:30AM Cost: $14 This easy approach to vibrant health has been extremely popular and successful here at Easthaven. It is a highly effective, simple plan for eating that centers on hearty, delicious, and satisfying food. Women in our church have lost between 20-30lbs, triglycerides have been lowered from 156 to 86, cholesterol lowered from 180 to 159. All ages are encouraged to join us! MATTHEW PRECEPT STUDY Facilitator: Gail Macauley Location: Room 218 Time: 10-11:30AM Cost: $16 What is His kingdom? What is the character and lifestyle of those who are a part of this kingdom? We will walk with Jesus through towns and villages as He heals the sick, casts out demons, calms the seas, and listen as He explains His kingdom. Easthaven is growing out of Bible study space, so the men have graciously offered to meet off campus at 30 2nd Street East in Kalispell. NO OTHER GODS Facilitator: Jill Hembroff Location: Pastor Daniel s Home Time: 6:15-7:45 Cost: $13 In this ladies class, we will participate in an unrivaled pursuit of Christ that will include: fresh content, activities, recipes, and eight teaching sessions. We will also be challenged to evaluate if we have any modern-day idols and embrace a deeper, more meaningful relationship with Jesus. The class begins January 10.

7 50+ LUNCHEON & PROGRAM FRIDAY, JANUARY 5, AT 12:00PM Guest Speakers: Martha Simpson & Dannie Lynn Cheak These incredible women are both moms, grandmas, and retired homeless shelter crisis coworkers. Between the two of them, they have seven kids and are now both on the journey alone. They will be speaking on the legacy of faithfulness. Even when kids are grown, there are still other people to reach out to in our lives! Bring an envelope with three or four family pictures to share around your table. WHAT: Our 50+ luncheons are for anyone 50 years and older. The program offers inspiration, information, and friendship. We d love for you to invite a friend. Guests are always welcome!
