September 10 ~ This morning we have the privilege of celebrating the Lord s Supper together. Even as we give deep thanks for the gift of God s Son, and Jesus obedient emptying himself of his riches or glory for us, today s message will highlight how part of our thankful response includes giving back of our riches or gifts or offerings for kingdom service. The service is led by Pastor Paul. Lord s Supper Invitation: If you are a guest with us today, please join us in our Lord Supper celebration. We invite you to do so provided you profess Jesus Christ as Saviour as an active member within his church, genuinely repentant of sin. Please NOTE: the cups in the center of the communion tray have grape juice in them; the rest have wine. Gluten free bread is provided in the center of the bread tray. With final approval from Synod 2017, the two agencies officially joined on July 1, We will continue our partnership with churches in the United States and Canada to plant churches, do campus ministry, train and equip pastors, and develop future leaders. Additionally, it means sending missionaries overseas, proclaiming the Gospel, and forging lasting partnerships. 4 Church Family Please remember in your prayers those who are confined to their homes: Bertha, Janet, Grace, Margaret, Ben, Doreen, Alice, and Diane. Continue to pray for those suffering various illness or daily health struggles in our congregation. Many of our church programs are once again starting or soon starting a new season. We are deeply thankful to God for all those involved in our programs either by way of providing leadership and support or by way of participation and attendance. Pray God will use this season to teach us great and powerful things about himself, and how we might thankfully respond in service. Floating Greeters: We are in great need of Floating Greeters to help greet and direct visitors and members in the Fellowship Hall Sunday mornings before the service. Please consider helping with this ministry and contact the church office if you are able to commit or have any questions. Vacation: Please note, the secretary will be on vacation until September 25. Candace will be filling in at the office during regular office hours. Program Budget Forms: The Stewardship Committee will soon be preparing the budget for the upcoming year. Committee or Ministry Leaders, may have already received an with a Program Budget Form attached. Budget requests can be submitted to the office or directly to Candace by Friday, September 15. Parents of College and University Students: In the upcoming months, we will be sending out care packages to all our young adults studying at colleges and universities near and far. Please help us in this ministry by ing the following info to Pastor Jake at: youth_director@draytoncrc.org 1: Name of Student. 2: Name of College/University. 3: Program of Study. 4: Mailing Address. 5: A recent photo to be used in a slide show for an upcoming church service. Sort and Pack: Our first Sort and Pack for the upcoming season will begin next week Wednesday, September 20 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. We are grateful for anyone able to help pack!

5 Church Events & News ANNUAL SENIORS OUTING It is that time of year again where the Deacons are planning our annual outing. This year, Lord willing, we plan on taking you to Ripley s Aquarium in Toronto. A motor coach bus has been reserved for Thursday, September 28. The cost for the day will be $57 per person which will include the coach and entrance fee to the Aquarium. You will also need extra money as we will stop to eat-in at Tim Horton s for a snack/lunch and Swiss Chalet for supper. We will meet at the church that morning at 8:45 a.m. and we hope to be back by 7:00-7:30 p.m. To book a spot, or if you have any questions, please call Adam at or Rita at or We join WORLD RENEW being mindful of millions of people affected by natural disasters. Friday, September 22 at 12:00 p.m. Moorefield United Church My Trip to Churchill, Manitoba. Join Kay as she shares her experiences during her trip to Churchill, Manitoba. Travelling in a float plane, to fighting off mammoth sized bugs, to close encounters with Polar Bears, this interesting presentation is sure to entertain. Presentations are free and run from 12:30 p.m. until about 1:30 p.m. If you would like to stay for lunch the cost is $12. 7 Updates from the Worship Committee After receiving Sunday School program updates including feedback from our pastors, would like to take this opportunity to inform the congregation Children s Messages during morning worship services have been changed to a time of mutual blessing starting today. May this be a helpful transition as we gather together for weekly worship. We also wish to share that our congregation-approved organ project starts, as promised, by our organ technician, Leslie Smith, this month. We anticipate this work (to replace our organ manual) will take around 3 months; most of it off-site. Anyone wishing to use the church sanctuary space are asked to simply make a note of that on the calendar outside the secretary s office. Thank you!
