This Sabbath A prayer journal is located in the foyer for those that would like to request special prayer from their church family. Vesper will be at 5:30 pm Nominating Committee will meet today, following services. Come support the South Lancaster Academy Student Association's Fall Festival on October 28, 2017, from 6:30-9:00. There will be a $2.00 entrance fee for all attendees (even if you are hosting a booth). If you would like to rent a table for the event, the cost is $20. Half of that amount will be reimbursed if the booth area is cleaned at the conclusion of the event. For booth reservations, please contact Gillian Stevenson at Gillian.stevenson@mysla.org. We hope to see you there! Today Pathfinders will be participating in the Greater Lancaster Food Drive, be sure to bring a sack lunch. You and your parents are invited to join us, we will be meeting in Fellowship hall for 1:00 p.m. Calendar Events Prostate Cancer Awareness Day on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Chan Shun Dining Commons, AUC. 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Our goals are to present Cutting-Edge Knowledge advances in prevention, early detection and treatment for Men, their Family Members and Physicians; Empower Fully Informed and Shared Decisions on health Care Option. South Lancaster Academy Fall Constituency Meeting: Join us for our annual Fall Constituency meeting on November 2, at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel at South Lancaster Academy. We will be presenting the opening enrollment report, a snapshot of the school s academic programs and progress, and an update on the progress of Phase One of our Building for Eternity initiative. Weekly Events The Warren Clarke Memorial Open Mic Friday Night from 7pm-10pm. Signups will begin at 7, first performance will start at 7:30. The Village Church young adults will provide a safe, casual, Christian atmosphere, where the areas young adults can perform live music and their talents. There will be worship and testimony time. Free refreshments and light snacks will be provided. For any questions please contact Matthew Renzi at CALLING ALL FLUTISTS! Join our flute choir at Thayer Performing Arts Center, under the direction of Maria Ramey, and enjoy both music and fellowship in the beautiful, historic mansion. We'll be

Rehearsals are Monday evenings 7:30-8:45 and performances are scheduled through the semester for church services, community settings and at Thayer. Call TPAC at for more information or to register. Clinton: Friday 7:30 p.m., Saturday & Sunday 9:30 a.m. Lancaster & Sterling: Saturday 8:00 a.m., Friday 2:00 p.m. The 11:00 o clock service is now streamed live on YouTube. Prayer Meeting: Have you ever wondered why the disciples had such death defying faith after Pentecost? Ten days in the upper room changed everything. The Holy Spirit descended with power and an early rain to energize and empower the growth of the new Christian Church. This same Spirit is to be poured out in even greater strength to complete the great work of Christ in these last days. Are we ready to receive this amazing gift? Come to Prayer Meeting every Wednesday evening at 7:00pm for an in-depth study of 10 Days in the Upper Room Receiving the Gift of the Holy Spirit. The French/Haitian Creole Sabbath School Class will function every Sabbath at the E.G White library and it is open to everyone who speaks the language or wants to learn it, follow direction from the entrance from the parking lot. Bread of Life -Village Food Pantry: Bread of Life serves the community distributing food each week. This week they will be open on Thursday 4:30 p.m. Volunteers are needed in various areas. We really could use them to distribute them to our food pantry participants. Life Groups: Illustrating the Bible 7:15pm During this hour we will have lively discussion on a pre-chosen topic and a time for Q & A. Then with various art materials we will illustrate something that will help us remember what we have just learned. Donations can be dropped off at the church in the box the states " Community Services Collection". We are still raising money for a new Sound System. Our goal is to reach $20,000 and match that same amount from the Memorial Fund. Please continue to support! Remember Embracing Ani O Connor, there are still commitment cards and special offering envelopes in the lobby, join us as we commit to helping Ani and her family. All public announcements from the front of the Church during Ministry Matters must be pre-approved by the Head Elder. THERE IS HOPE for Puerto Rico...The telethon last Saturday 21 was successful for the Glory of our God and also because hundreds of people did their part by bringing their donations... we managed to fill the second Container with 40,000 pounds of food... we want to thank everyone for each donation!! The campaign will continue through December in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
