4 ANNOUNCEMENTS REMINDER: Session meeting today after worship Today, We welcome our soon to be neighbors, Planned Parenthood of New Orleans. They will present a minute for mission this morning. Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast is building a new health center on South Claiborne. Planned Parenthood is a trusted quality health care provider which has been operating a health center on Magazine Street for thirty years. The new health center is scheduled to open in 2015 and will provide well women exams, testing for STIs and HIV, cancer screenings and other related reproductive health services. In addition to health care services, Planned Parenthood provides age appropriate health education, parent education and healthy pregnancy education. Planned Parenthood is a community partner with many health and education programs. For our FPCNO singers, the massed choir will be singing John Rutter s For the Beauty of the Earth and will be practicing at 6.00 pm in the sanctuary.

5 THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 27 TH, THANKSGIVING DAY Jefferson Presbyterian Church in Jefferson, La. is serving Thanksgiving Dinner at noon and everyone who needs a place to eat is invited. (dine in dinner or carry-out sandwich option). Jefferson Presbyterian is located straight down S. Claiborne and becomes Jefferson Hwy. The church is on the bus route at Newman Ave, stop (4451 E. Falk Pl.) ADULT ADVENT STUDY We will be offering a brand new class for adults during Advent. The class will follow a program called Pausing on the Road to Bethlehem: a spiritual journey through Advent. This is not a traditional Advent study, but will be an exciting new venture in adult studies. It is an interactive program for participants, with Bible passages related to the Birth Story, group activities with reflections using poetry, music, and art; and prayer, both traditional and meditative. There will also be suggestions for take- home activities. The classes will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sunday evenings during Advent, starting Sunday, November 30. All are welcome! A children s track will be offered as well. If you are interested in finding out more about the class, pick one of the flyers in the Narthex on Sunday mornings. SPECIAL COMMUNION SUNDAY FOOD DONATION The food collected at worship on Sunday, December 7 (Communion Sunday) will go to the Westbank Second Harvest Foodbank, because they are having a hard time getting enough to feed those in need there. The (5) Anderson Family members - who were killed last week in a house fire in Broadmoor. The 3 children attended Andrew Wilson Charter School. Please pray for the father and other relatives and friends for God s healing and guidance. Ken Allen uncle died last week. Ken is Sherri Hutton s partner. Keep Ken and the Allen family in your prayers for God s healing. Leona Hansell- sister of Maria Hansell, died this past Wednesday. Please keep the Hansell family and relatives in your prayers for God s healing. Bruce Robertson - brother has COPD, a repaired fractured vertebra (no apparent cause) and is in a lot of pain, and congestive heart failure. Prayers are much needed. Jo Campbell - (former coworker with Dee Boling) - is in the hospital in serious condition with a stomach infection. Sandy Clockedile (college classmate of Dee's) - has been battling cancer for a while and they have found a tumor encircling her spinal cord, threatening to cause permanent paralysis. She is recently had surgery to remove some of the tumor and get the rest out of her spinal column then stabilize the vertebrae. Baby, Josiah, son of Ryan and Samantha they are friends of Dr. Jonathan and Dr. Jennifer Cone. Brian Graber His wife has a cancerous brain tumor. They are friends of Peter and Louanne Cho. Our Homebound members and friends. Please visit them and remember them in prayer.
