You may notice a difference in how the scripture passages are listed in this week's bulletin. The Genesis passage is listed as being from "the Pentateuch" (which literally means "5 books" and is used for the first 5 books of the Bible) and the John passage from "the Gospels." The terms "Old Testament" and "New Testament" are troubling to our Jewish brothers and sisters, as they assume that the way Christians read the Scriptures is more important than how Jews read the Scriptures. Pentateuch and Gospels refer to the specific type of literature these books come from in the Scriptures.

A bathroom is available (with a changing table) at the back of the church in the left hand alcove as you face the entrance doors. We take the passing of the peace seriously, so don t be surprised if you get offered hugs! Please plan to stay after worship for a few minutes to share refreshments at the back of the church; it s an extension of our understanding of communion and a chance to share God s hospitality. We are the only More Light Congregation in New Orleans which means we welcome not only the membership, but the leadership and talents of all genders, abilities, races, and sexual orientations. We appreciate the spiritual and financial support your attendance brings. Easter Lilies and Hydrangeas This Easter we want to have flowers in our sanctuary and outside by the cross, as a way of sharing the good news of resurrection and new life with our neighbors. We will be buying both Easter lilies and hydrangeas. Please make your donation in the envelope inserted in the bulletin, indicating the following: The name of the person(s) in whose honor/memory you are buying the flower, your name, if you have a preference between lilies and hydrangeas. Each flower donation is $15. Thank you for sharing in this symbol of new life.
