Where do you turn with the big questions of life and faith especially when things don't make sense? Join as we dig into God's word and find out just how common this problem of doubt is even for some of the most well known people in the Bible. Let's Bout with Doubt together! Starting September 28/29 th. Many people at St. Paul are currently receiving a monthly copy of the Lutheran Witness at their home. Our annual renewal is happening now and in order to continue your subscription, you must notify the church office by October 6 th with your current mailing address. If your subscription is not confirmed, it will be canceled. The reason for this change is that we pay for each subscription individually and realize that some addresses are incorrect and that some may no longer be receiving or reading the issue, which is paid for on your behalf. Thank you for helping us be good stewards in this matter. We encourage you, on Sunday mornings, to please park in the Citrus Terrace lot in order to keep the Morgan lot in front of the church open for those who are our guests, for people with mobility issues, and for those arriving late to worship. Your courtesy in this matter helps our church be a welcoming place to all who worship with us. Please also be very cautious and watch out for young children when driving in the front Morgan lot, especially after worship services. E. Washington Citrus Terrace 1

2 Page 2 We recently commissioned the design for a new logo for our ministry here that captures, as best as possible, who we are as a unique congregation in the LCMS in a simple way. We currently had in use for our ministries 4 different logos and wanted one that would unify us so that as we do ministry, people would know that a ministry with our cross logo was connected with the body of Christ at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Thanks to the effort of our graphic artist and the input of staff, council, and elders the following logo was chosen to represent us for this time in our ministry. This design will be used in helping create a more unified approach to clearly sharing with the community and reminding all of us that we are one ministry reflecting the love of Jesus. Whether you come in contact with us through our Great Beginnings Early Childhood Center with your infant, through your middle school student at the Academy, through a friend at Meet and Make, through a neighbors invitation to worship, or in too many others ways to mention, we want you to see Jesus in and through us as together we carry out the great command and invitation of Jesus, to make disciples of all nations. Be on the look-out for upcoming ways to proudly display your connection to St. Paul through items like shirts, mugs, pens, window clings, and much more to our community. Let s lift high the cross of Jesus! The cross is the central representation of who we are for it is from the cross and the resurrection of Jesus we get our mission. So you will notice first of all the middle of the cross (white area) is empty for Christ is not dead he has risen. His work is accomplished, our sins are forgiven, and eternal life by grace through faith is ours. Radiating from the cross then are people who reflect that message of Christ into the world. Each part of the red and black is a different size as we have been entrusted with a ministry that impacts people of all ages from many backgrounds. While the people may all be different the one thing that remains the same is the message of Jesus. 2

Will meet on Tuesday, October 29, 7:00PM in the church library. Elders will meet on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 7PM in the conference room. Monday mornings at 6:30AM, Men of Prayer of St. Paul gather in the church library to begin the work week with prayer. You are invited to join us for a time of lifting up the people of our community and giving thanks to God for all his blessings. Planning Council will meet on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 7PM in the conference room. The Youth Group meets Sundays in the youth room from 6PM-8PM. Anyone entering 8 th grade through high school is welcome to attend. Dinner is provided.
