8 Shaping Our World Let s unite in prayer for our leaders at this crucial time in Canada: 1 Tim 2:1-4 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our savior, who wants all people to be save and to come to a knowledge of the truth. Let s pray for the truth to prevail and for God to use this vulnerable time of shaking to touch the hearts and lives of our leaders and for people to turn to God. Psalm 2:10-11 Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling. Additional Resources: 4mycanada.ca (Non-partisan, non-profit, faith-based media source) Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Serving Our World The Uxbridge Loaves and Fishes Food bank is looking for a volunteer from Uxbridge Baptist Church to sit on the Board of Directors. If you have any questions, or are interested, please speak with Cathy Bacon. Also, with Easter here, please consider a donation to the food bank. There are many in our community that are in need and the food bank would welcome your assistance in meeting that need. Financial donations can be handed to Cathy Bacon. 10 Prayer Corner You are invited to the Monday Night Prayer Meeting. Come and Add Your Voice to the Prayers of our Church and our Community. All are welcome. The meetings are held weekly at 7pm in the Boardroom (at the top of the stairs from the NE parking lot doors). PRAYER FOR STRENGTH, HEALING AND COMFORT Lord, you are our healer, our Great Physician, you know our needs and the needs of those in our congregation and our community. We pray for those who need your healing touch, we pray for those who need your restoration of body, of mind, of soul. We pray for those who are shut-in, grieving, or lonely. Lord, we ask that you would strengthen and guide with your compassion and grace. In Your Son s Holy name, we pray. Amen. EASTER MORNING PRAYER Heavenly Father, the resurrection of Your Son has given us new life and renewed hope. Help us to live as new people in your Kingdom here on earth. Grant us wisdom to know what we must do, the will to want to do it, the courage to undertake it, the perseverance to continue to do it, and the strength to complete it. Amen. adapted fromhttps:// 5 The angel said to the women, Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him. Now I have told you. 8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Matthew 28:5-8 (NIV)
