5 WELCOME Our congregation has been welcoming members and visitors to worship on the Lord s Day since March 16, If you are visiting this morning, we extend a special welcome to you and invite you to introduce yourself to one of the pastors or speak with an usher if you have any questions. Today s Music: Our guest vocal soloist this morning is Katherine Riddle. She is a professional vocalist now based here in the Washington, DC area. The offertory, sung is French, is by Gabriel Fauré. En Priere comes from a song cycle published in 1890 (the same year his Requiem was composed). The text is a simple prayer to God that he would give wisdom how to serve him best, and how to meet the needs of those around us. The baptismal wreath today is given by the Flower Committee in honor of the baptism of Hazel Mae Taylor, and in thanks for the service of her parents, Lyndsay and Matthew. The flowers are given by the Taylors and dedicated to Hazel s grandparents. The ushers for September are Marty Crowson, Captain; Judi Crowson, Roy Henwood, Nancy Kuhn, Drew Marrs, Paige McDermott, Peyton Miller, Alexis Pollock, Dwight Smith, and Pamela Sorensen.
