4 The Reading of God s Word: Jonah 3:1-5 & 3:1 4:2 Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it the message that I tell you." So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, three days' journey in breadth. Jonah began to go into the city, going a day's journey. And he called out, "Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!" And the people of Nineveh believed God. They called for a fast and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them to the least of them. When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he had compassion and did not bring upon them the destruction he had threatened. But Jonah was greatly displeased and became angry. He prayed to the Lord, "O Lord, is this not what I said when I was still in my country? That is why I was so quick to flee to Tarshish. I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity. Now, O Lord, take away my life, for it is better for me to die than to live." But the Lord replied, "Have you any right to be angry?" Reader: This is the Word of the Lord. Congregation: Thanks be to God. The Gospel: Matthew 12:38-41 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying, "Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you." But Jesus answered them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here. 5 The Apostles Creed I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. 8 TRINITY Announcements Parish Nurse News: Open enrollment for healthcare is Nov. 15, 2014 through Feb. 15, There will be an enrollment event at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital, Thursday, Nov. 20, from 1-7p.m., as well as at other BayCare area hospitals through January, To make a free appointment with a Health Insurance Navigator (highly recommended for completing the enrollment) or for more information about health care options, please call (855) or see the flyer on the Information Board. The Front Parcel: Only 0.04% (or $62) separates us from having 70% of our goal. However, $45,062 still is needed to own this land. If you have questions, talk to Treasurer Lorna Wright or any member of the Leadership Team. Support Our Youth Group as We Go Without Food For 30 Hours! We don't think it's right that nearly 9,500 kids are dying every day because of hunger so we're doing something about it. We're RELEASING THE FEAST for children in need through World Vision's 30 Hour Famine! Lock-in will be Monday, Nov. 24 through Tuesday, Nov. 25 at the church. The youth will be seeking pledges to raise money for this project. Thanksgiving Eve Worship with Communion will be Wednesday, November 26 at 7 p.m. Hospitality Sunday: Next Sunday, we gather after each service for food and fellowship. Please bring your snacks, baked goods, or Thanksgiving leftovers to share then join us for conversation, Bible study, and fellowship. Christmas Cookies Needed: If you are willing to bake homemade cookies for the LWML s Christmas Cookie Sale to benefit the Crisis Pregnancy Center, please call Fran Gall. The sale will be held Saturday & Sunday, Dec. 13 & 14. 8

9 TRINITY Announcements, con t Christmas Decorating: We will be decorating our church for Christmas on Saturday, December 6 starting at noon. Everyone is welcomed to join in. Leadership Team is meeting Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 6:30 pm in the FDC room. If you wish to be on the agenda please see or call President, Les Wright. Constitution and By-Laws: Our revised Constitution and By- Laws have been approved by the District and the congregation will be voting on the revisions at the December 14 meeting. The revised Constitution and By-Laws and a Recap of Changes is posted to our Web Site for members to review. We will be handing out copies of the recap of changes after early service and before late service today. Copies will be available for members after Saturday service. The Constitution, By-Laws and Recap of Changes will be ed to all members whose addresses we have. Please see Les or Lorna Wright if you have any questions. Voter s Meeting: There will be a Voters Meeting starting Saturday, December 13 at 7 pm; the meeting will be suspended after the agenda items are covered and conclude Sunday December 14 between services in the sanctuary. We will be holding the election of the 2015 Leadership Team, 2015 Budget and voting on the revised Constitution and By-Laws. Please see President Les Wright if you want to be on the agenda for any other topics. Trustees will not be meeting in December. Beginning in January they will meet on the fourth Saturday of the month for the morning. Everyone is always invited to be a part of the work day for whatever time you can be there. Confirmation Class is held Sundays in the classroom at 9:35 am. Kid s Club, for children Pre-K 5th, is held during the 10:30 am service with the children returning for communion. LWML (Lutheran Women s Missionary League) is open to all women of Trinity. We meet the second Monday from September through May. Meetings are at 10 a.m. to noon at church. Women s Prayer and Praise Group meets every Monday at 10 a.m. in Room 186, FDC. Time of Refreshing: The sanctuary is open for personal prayer from 3-7 p.m. the last Thursday of the month with a candlelight corporate prayer time led by Pastor Marc at 7 p.m. Men s Servant Event: Trinity s LLL (Lutheran Laymen s League) serves breakfast to the homeless the second Saturday every month at the Volunteer Way, Moon Lake Road, from 8:00 to 11:30 a.m. Trustees meet the third Saturday of the month from 8 am until 11 am at the church. They take care of maintenance items inside the church and extra yard work. Everyone is invited to be a part of the work day for whatever time you can be there. Please see or call Les Wright for additional information. G.U.T.T.S (God Using Teens to Serve,) Trinity s Youth Group, meets Wednesday evenings from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. at church.
