When we surrender to the Holy Spirit we are filled with a powerful dynamism to: 1) Come together and be built together as the body of Christ; and 2) To reach out to others with the Good News of Jesus Christ. I would like to reflect with you about ways we can stir into a flame these graces that we have through the Holy Spirit. Our experience in Catholic Charismatic Renewal was that when we were touched by God through the baptism in the Holy Spirit we sensed the Spirit s call to come together for prayer, sharing our faith, and helping each other to grow in the Lord. We formed prayer groups like the Jerusalem community after Pentecost that was devoted (committed) to prayer, the Eucharist, the teaching of the apostles (Scripture and Church teaching), and the sharing together in a community. St Paul teaches us that we are the body of Christ and parts of one another. We are to be fit and fashioned together in order to grow in the full maturity of Christ. We are weakened as a Church when we focus only on having personal spiritual experiences and even going to religious events, but never seek the Lord for what kind of faith sharing group that he is calling us to be committed and devoted. I am calling you in the name of the Lord to recommit yourself to your prayer group and invite others to the prayer group, explaining to them the special graces of maturity that come when a person is a committed and devoted member of a faith sharing and prayer group. The Holy Spirit calls us to be part of the full community of the Catholic Church, our diocese, and our parish, but he is also calling Catholics to be part of smaller faith sharing and prayer groups where the Holy Spirit can form us as strong disciples of Jesus who day by day are growing in the Lord. We have too many isolated people who do not understand the bible s call to community or are too afraid to commit themselves to a particular group. At the same time, it is not enough to do ministry together. Some people have their ministry projects (and thank God for these), but they are not devoted to any faith community. We are to be a people who praise God together; share the Scriptures together; pray together for one another; and learn together how to walk in the Spirit! This is God s calling in the Scriptures, and the Spirit s calling in your heart if we will listen to it. This will make us stronger! Secondly, when the Spirit makes our faith alive in a new way, we want to share with others about Jesus and how he has touched our lives. Let us stir this into a flame again, brothers and sisters! When was the last time that you shared with someone your favorite Scripture passages about Jesus? When was the last time you shared with someone your testimony about the ways Jesus has influenced your life? When was the last time you asked someone to share with you what Jesus means in their life? When was the last time you invited someone to come to a prayer meeting or a conference with you? The Holy spirit makes us into a inviting people. The more that we reach out; the more we will experience the Holy Spirit giving us the right words to say. This is a precious experience. The more we reach out to share the good news of Jesus Christ; the more Jesus promises us that his word will be confirmed by signs and wonders. God will manifest his presence more and more when we evangelize and reach out to others. Come to our yearly conference at St. Mary Magdalen on March 2-3, and invite someone to come with you who has not been to this conference. We all need the Holy Spirit as our comforter, counselor, and advocate. God pours out very special graces when we all come together in a conference like this. Be devoted to building your prayer groups by inviting others to the conference with you, and be devoted to supporting all our prayer groups, and others who will come to the conference, be committing yourself to come. Then the Lord can do great things among us as he fits and fashions us together for we are parts of one another!

3 Page 3 Kick-Off Breakfast & Conference Count Down: Brothers and Sisters in Christ: The KICK-OFF CONFERENCE BREAKFAST: scheduled for Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 8am to 10am at St. Mary Magdalen Church in the Jubilee Hall is now only days away. The event will begin with Praise and Worship by Rebecca Rocha with breakfast being provided by Ruth Siller and Team. Father Bob Hogan will give a blessing to all who are in attendance. Please allow the expectant faith of Christ s mighty power well up in your spirit and join us for a great breakfast and a beautiful time of fellowship with friends and family. The SouTh CenTral TexaS regional SpiriTual renewal ConferenCe: sponsored by the Catholic Center for Charismatic Renewal (CCCR) scheduled for March 2-3, 2012, at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 1710 Clower St., San Antonio, Texas is less than 30 days away. So far there are only 28 people registered to attend the conference. I know we can do better than this. Make sure and take advantage of the $5.00 discount on your registration, if you register by no later than February 17, Brothers and Sisters, on December 10, 2011, a member of the CCCR Intercessory Group received a prophetic word, The Lord said, we are to proclaim His message of Salvation to everyone we encounter because He is preparing something great! Everyone one must forget about self and lift up our voices to God in supplication for His church. We must reach out to our Brothers and Sisters in Christ with love and tell them to repent of their sins and return to the Lord. We are exhorted to be filled with His love so that others can believe our conviction and commitment to Him and by seeing our love for Him; they too will come to Him. We are told not to worry about being rejected by those He sends to us because He will open their ears, eyes, and hearts to accept His invitation and word of salvation. We are warned that a time of turmoil is coming and we must be prepared. We must be obedient because He comes soon. Brothers and Sisters, it is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that you and I can receive the grace to die to self and live for God through Jesus Christ. It is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that the message of salvation can enter into the heart of an individual and bring about a holy conviction, sincere repentance, and a complete conversion. It is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that you and I will be able to stand firm with Christ in times of turmoil and remain steadfast in obedience. It is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that we can receive the love of Christ and have the grace to share it with others. It is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that the deaf can hear; the blind see; and a hardened heart be made of flesh. It is written in Revelations 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will enter His house and dine with him, and he with me. The Lord is standing at the door of your heart. He is inviting you to come and dine with Him at the March 2-3, 2012 Regional Conference. Please do not let this invitation go unheeded; I hope to see you there. ConferenCe volunteers needed: Volunteers are a very important component in the CCCR s ability to successfully fulfill its mission. The conference is the biggest event that the CCCR sponsors yearly in order to raise funds so that it can continue to provide assistance to all the parishes within the San Antonio Archdiocese. The Lord needs volunteers to offer up their time and talent. The Lord needs you!
