Maria is stepping away from work to focus on other interests. While her brief tenure is a loss to staff and parishioners, a parish thank you to Maria for her staff service on behalf of our parish youth. Our best wishes go out to her! A search committee will be formed in Spring 2018 and an interview and hiring process started. Parishioners are asked to pray for a successful 2018 effort. NARCAN/NALOXONE TRAINING: Save a life by Choosing Hope of changing a life! Greene County project DAWN will hold a training on how to administer Narcan on Wednesday, January 31 st at 7:00 p.m. in Kramer Hall at St. Luke Church. Training can accommodate up to 25 attendees. SOCIAL ACTION MINISTRY Christ has no hands or feet on earth but ours St Teresa of Avila LAST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH COLLECTION: Next weekend is the last weekend of December. The members of the St. Luke St. Vincent de Paul Society will be in the church gathering space after all Masses to receive your monetary donations. Your continued generosity is appreciated! Carroll High School is sponsoring a trip to Washington DC for the MARCH FOR LIFE, departing on January 18 th and returning on January 21 st. The trip includes Mass at the Capital One Arena, the March, and sightseeing. This is a great opportunity for families, youth groups, or others involved in the pro-life movement. Therefore, we will stop collecting stamps. The St. Luke Social Action Ministry thanks parishioners and parish offices who participated in this project for many years. The men in this program were always grateful that people were thinking about them. HERE AT ST. MONICA MINISTRY: The member s of St. Monica Ministry gather together to support one another in their prayers, hopes and longings for family members and friends who no longer practice their Catholic faith or have a weakened faith. Please contact Teresa at for more information. DEVOTION TO THE MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST is held Saturday from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. All are welcome to pray the Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Litany, the Chaplet of the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ followed by the Divine Mercy Chaplet. EUCHARISTIC EXPOSITION AND ADORATION This is the wonderful truth, my dear friends: the Word, which became flesh two thousand years ago, is present today in the Eucharist. Saint Pope John Paul II Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament begins in St. Dominic Chapel after the Tuesday 8:30 a.m. Mass and continues until Benediction at 6:45 p.m. We recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:15 p.m. Divine Office evening prayer (Vespers) and evening Divine Mercy Chaplet are prayed at 6:00 p.m. All ages are welcome. No babysitting is available on December 26 th since school is not in session. If you feel Jesus tugging at your heart to spend some quiet time with Him, please come to Adoration. Communal Rosary: On Tuesday, December 26 th, the 8:30 a.m. Mass will be in St. Dominic Chapel. Communal Rosary will be prayed before Mass beginning at 8:00 a.m. and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will occur before the end of Mass.

FUNERAL LUNCHEON LAY MINISTRY: Thank You to all the parishioners who generously donated food or served the meal at our recent funeral lunches. We would not be able to provide these lunches to our bereaved families without all your work and support. We are always looking for people willing to donate food or help serve these lunches. CHRISTMAS BAZAAR 2018 The Boosters are looking for gently used artificial Christmas trees and decorations Do you have a gently used artificial Christmas tree or Christmas decorations that you no longer use? Why not donate them? The Boosters are looking for gently used artificial Christmas trees and Christmas decorations to restock the Attic Treasures booth for next year s Bazaar. Trees and decorations can be dropped off at Jansen Center and a donation receipt can be provided. Please identify your item as a donation for the Boosters. CHILDREN S LITURGY OF THE WORD: All children in the parish age 3-9 are invited to participate in Children s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) sessions at the Saturday 5:30 p.m. Mass and Sunday 10:00 a.m. Mass. CLOW is intended to help children pray better and reflect on God s Word. The children are invited to come forward for a special blessing toward the beginning of Mass and then they walk to St. Dominic Chapel with 2 CLOW leaders. CLOW continues to need 2 VIRTUS trained adults at each session of the 5:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. Mass. In our efforts to ensure the safety of the children who attend, we are asking that 2 VIRTUS trained adults sign up for this ministry. If we are unable to have 2 VIRTUS trained adults sign up, CLOW will not be offered at that Mass. K-8 Grade Student Grants Level of Need Based on Income: All K-8 grade grants funded by the CEF will be awarded based upon the assessed financial need of our families, performed by a third-party company which will examine a family s income and suggest a level of need. $1000 Limit: A grant will not exceed the amount of $1,000 per student, with the amount determined by the financial needs assessment. (This $1,000 is an initial limit; it may increase in future years, dependent on future funds raised and changing policies of the grant program.) Annual Applications: These grants must be applied for annually, and will be awarded without distinguishing between families based upon religion; however, local parishes/ schools could make such differentiations in awards of separate local tuition assistance. Qualifying for Other Support: These primary school grants will not be provided to any family who already receives, or who qualifies to receive, full tuition support from state-funded Parental Choice programs (the EdChoice Scholarship, the Jon Peterson Scholarship, etc.). However, these grants will be awarded before any form of locallygenerated tuition assistance (such as parish or school aid). Which Schools are included: Awarded grants may be applied toward tuition at any Catholic Elementary School recognized by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. For application information visit: parent-resources/grant-and-aid/ Priority deadline for applications this year will be DECEMBER 31, 2017 VIRTUS Protecting God s Children Sessions on the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Decree on Child Protection: All employees and regular volunteers in the Archdiocese who have contact with children are required to be trained using VIRTUS materials.
