1 Volume 21 January 15th, 2017 A note from Dr. Stein... Well, we've officially had our first snow day! Monday we had a chance to enjoy the sledding hills and chilly weather! I heard about a few snowboarding attempts and sledding jumps as well! Thank-you, Lord, for your beautiful variety in nature! Friday was our first set of projects since returning from Christmas Break, and they were excellent! We heard about Apple trees, the Pumpkin vine, the Vanilla Bean, and more. There were delicious things to taste, interesting things to smell as well as hear. It was an entertaining afternoon! The lower graders did not disappoint either. They showed us the fascinating history of Hot Air Balloons, complete with demonstrations and little models. It was a fun Friday, to be sure. Preparations are beginning for our Easter Program. This musical drama will be a retelling of Christ's final moments on this earth, from his last teachings to his death and resurrection. So save the evening of Easter Sunday to come learn about our Savior's final moments! We have Jump Rope for Heart just around the bend. This fun event is a chance for our kids to focus on heart health and raise money to research Heart disease through the American Heart Association. You will probably be contacted by a student, so act surprised. Our ranks have swelled to 18 regular students, and I've heard from others wishing to join. We are full, full, full, and are hoping for some fall interests to allow us to have 2 teachers! Our Constituency meeting is scheduled for January 28 at 6PM. Please plan to be there, and provide a voice on the future of our little school. We will have a game night following that will start at 7PM, so bring a board game and plan for an engaging evening. Please, please pray for our little school. For Mrs. Tiffany and I as we navigate our school days and try to lead these kids. We are both committed to letting the Holy Spirit direct us in our choices and everyday actions, and we need all of the prayers we can muster! 2 Page 2 SAS Trumpeter Dissection Fun & more! This week 5th, 6th and 7th graders had the opportunity to dissect worms!! Some students jumped right into it with enthusiasm and others were slightly apprehensive about it, but in the end everyone had a good time and learned something new.
