The morning service will be played at 1:00pm on Sunday and the evening service will be played at 10:00am on Thursday. Today we are reminded for the many blessings and freedoms we have in our country. We are thankful to our military veterans who have helped to protect and defend those freedoms. As soldiers fulfill their calling to protect and defend, we are also called to fulfill our particular callings in life. Sometimes that work can be frustrating, difficult, and unfulfilling. Where do we find encouragement when our life s work discourages us? This morning, we will read Romans 5:1-11 which reminds us that our greatest hope is found in Jesus. In the evening Pastor Todd will be reading from Revelation 18 and we will be reminded that the measurements of success and pleasure that we have in our culture today will be wiped away and God s people, who have been called to reject the gods of our culture, will be protected and avenged. Let us worship God today! THIS WEEK AT HOPE Journey Bible Study: We will meet today at 4:45pm to watch the second video in Chip Ingram s series House or Home: God s Blueprint for a Great Marriage. The session is titled Marriage: A Holy Covenant Part 2. David & Gina will bring snacks. Viewpoints Bible Study: will meet after the service Sunday evening. The Heynens will serve lunch with the Van Der Zwaags leading. Please bring along $13 to give to the de Booms for DVD and book. Coffee Break: Coffee break will meet on Wednesday, November 15 at 10am. We will be studying Lesson 8. Youth Group: Meet at the church on Wednesday at 7:00 pm to pack care packages and have a lesson. Brennan & Kayla bring lunch and Aysha & Breanna bring drinks.

4 HOPE CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS We continue to pray for Cruise De Groot as he continues basic training in the Army. We express our sympathy to Don and Lyla Boer and family in the passing of Don s brother, Peter Boer, 90, of Sanborn. The Funeral was held this past Saturday. We keep the family in our prayers and take hope in the death and resurrection of our Lord. We pray for Jan Bakker as she continues chemotherapy. Please pray for strength and effectiveness of the treatment. We pray for Dwight and family as well as they support her. We keep Dave Mulder, brother-in-law of Mike and Meredith Van Otterloo, in our prayers. Dave received news that cancer had returned and that any further treatment likely would not be effective. In consultation with doctors and family, a decision was made for Dave to enter the care of hospice. Please pray for peace and comfort for Dave as well as for family. We remember our members who reside in care facilities: Mary Grooters at Pleasant Acres, Marv Boon at Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City, and Evelyn Dykstra in Byron Center Manor in Byron Center, MI. We also pray for their families as they support them. FIRST CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS Continue to keep LeRoy Jongetjes in prayer as he continues his radiation treatments. Pray for healing. We extend our Christian sympathy to John and Amy Emerick and family in the passing of Amy s grandfather, Peter Boer, age 90, of Sanborn. Funeral services were held on Saturday. Pray for Val Brummel as she left for Guatemala on November 8 and will return December 2. She is the Camp Coordinator for Hope Haven s 3-week camp for people with disabilities in Guatemala. Pray for good health and strength for Val, the teams, and campers, and that Jesus love be evident to all. Pray for our shut ins: Sally De Groot, Audrey Jongetjes, Florence Kroese, and Melvin Van Otterloo at Pleasant Acres; Wilma Altena, Verne Huisman, Julianne Kats, and Goldie Veldman at Aspen Heights; Esther Rozeboom in her son s home, and Ardelle Westra in Sioux City. Western Fun d Day: The Board of Western Christian High invites you to join parents, alumni, and friends on Friday, November 17 at Western Christian s annual Fun d Day. Fun'd Day consists of an evening meal at 5PM, fun and games for children of all ages at 6:30PM sponsored by the Western faculty, and an auction at 6:30PM of donated items from many businesses and families. The online auction opened Monday October 23 and closes Monday Nov 13. Royal Family Kids Camp: Please join us for a night of fun and fundraising celebrating God s faithfulness to Royal Family Kids Camp. Saturday, December 2 at 6:00 RFKC will be hosting our 5th annual dinner and dessert auction. Wayne Tesch (the founder of RFKC) will be speaking at the event! The Gift of Mobility featuring Nashville recording artist Jill Miller on Tuesday, December 19, at 7:00p. Tickets are $15. A limited amount of VIP tickets are also available for $25 and include a meet and greet and premier seating. Tickets are on sale Friday, November 3, at the Washington Pavilion Box Office or through The Christmas concert will also feature the Sioux Falls Christian school hand bell choir. Proceeds will go towards funding wheelchair sponsorships for an upcoming distribution trip to Vietnam in Day of Encouragement: at Dordt will be held on Saturday, February 3, Keynote speaker is Rev. Reggie Smith who will share his story of guiding change in transitional urban communities. Details will become available in November and registration will open on December 1. Hull Christian Job Opportunities: Hull Christian School is accepting applications for an immediate bookkeeper and Scrip director. The bookkeeper involves administrating payroll, tuition and monthly bills. The Scrip director will manage the Scrip program. The positions may be filled by one or two individuals. You will have the opportunity to visit with teachers, coaches, and staff; tour the newly remodeled school; and see how God is working in the lives of Christian young men and women. Guest Concert: Dordt College will host guest artists Lewis Lipnick, contraforte, and Tammy Miller, piano, for a guest concert at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. Western Custodian Opportunity: Western Christian has a full-time opening for an assistant custodian beginning in December, Duties include cleaning and maintenance of the building.
