5 Page 5 Route 66 Youth bringing Jesus Christ into the lives of teenagers through Bible study, prayer and fellowship. Youth Leaders Joe & Julie McNaughton Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27 We live in a troubled world, and we will all encounter storms in our lives. Yet, Jesus provides us peace and stability during these uncertain mes. There are many instances of Jesus demonstra ng his holiness and power over crea on, such as quie ng a storm which caused great anxiety to the disciples. We are con nuing our DVD series, The Way: Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus, as we highlight Jesus ministry during this season of Lent. This study allows us to see through video segments where Jesus went and what he did in the Holy Land, taking a walk in his footsteps. Through the ministry of Jesus, we can learn what it means to accept God s calming presence in our lives. Students can join us on Wednesdays at 6:30 in the Youth Hall. Thank you to everyone who supported our Pancake Breakfast on February 4th! We had a wonderful turnout, cooked 450 pancakes and sausages and 420 eggs, and raised over $2600 to help send youth students to Warren Willis Camp this summer. We are so thankful to our generous and suppor ve congrega on! 6 Children s Ministry Ethel Pawley Page 6 Kids Hour 9:45 & 11:11 AM Sunday Mornings Our adventure through the Bible continues as we will be learning to welcome Jesus in the name of the Lord. This month leading into Easter we will learn about Mary, the woman who gave her all, Bartimaeus, the man who begged for Christ s mercy, the Last Supper and the people s reception of Jesus on Palm Sunday. Anchor Point: We welcome Jesus in the name of the Lord. Memory Verse: Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord. Mark 11:19 SAVE the DATE VBS Volunteers are invited to attend the Fun Shop on Saturday, April 14 th This is a regional event that gives volunteers an overview of the VBS theme and how the different components of VBS work together to support the main theme. A representative from Group Publishing will be presenting and other churches from the area will be attending. It is well worth your time to attend. Please RSVP to the church office Kidz Nite Kids.com Music Group We meet from 6:30-8:00 pm in Room 112 for Kidz Nite activities. You don t want to miss out on this fun time of learning, singing, playing games, making crafts and yummy snacks. Best of all you will be enjoying all this fun with your friends! FYI Parents: there will not be Kidz Nite on March 28 th. Attention Parents: For the protection of our precious children, we ask that you fill out a security name tag for each child. Please fill in all the information on the label. Name tags are available in the classroom area and on the welcome tables in the Sanctuary. At the 9:45 Service, all children go directly to their classroom. For the 11:11 Service, preschool children go directly to their classroom, children in K-5 th grade are dismissed from the Sanctuary after the prayer. We will be following the same procedures using the security name tags and dismissal of the children at the 11:11 Service for Palm Sunday and Easter. We appreciate your cooperation. Mothers of Preschoolers Join us for our MOPS meetings on Wednesday, March 7 th and March 21 st from 9:30-11:30 am. Moms meet in room 125, kids in room 115 and 118. You don t want to miss either of these meeting. As always there will be good food, time for sharing with each other and building friendships. Child care is provided.
