Bishop Callahan and the bishops nationwide are joining in seven days of prayer and fasting prior to their general assembly in November, where they will make critical decisions regarding the tragedy of clergy abuse. 3 The Salvation Army distributes Christmas Food Baskets to families in the area. Holy Trinity donated about 250 jars of Peanut Butter and Jelly last year and have been asked to do so this year. Please put donations in the Grocery Cart in the church entrance until Dec. 12 Kwik Trip Milk Moola and Box Tops for Education put in the bucket at the SCRIP table are given to Cathedral School. Campbells Soup Labels are no longer participating. Thanks to everyone who saves these items. Our collective investing is a missionary extension of Christ s hands reaching across space and time to those in need in our Diocese and throughout the world. In light of our continuing scandals in our church, people are understandably concerned about where the monies they invest in the Diocesan Annual Appeal is going. Rest assured, as it has been in the past; Diocesan Annual Appeal Funds are not used for any legal remediation including but not limited to legal fees, victim settlements payments, or court cost, etc. Holy Trinity s Target is $65, We have $23, in Pledges and Gifts to date, 36.22% of our goal. Cards can be returned to the Parish Office or to the Diocese. IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE A PACKET FROM THE DIOCESE Brochures, Prayer Cards and Contribution Cards are in the Gathering Area, you can send a pledge/donation in a plain envelope and we will process it for you or visit diolc.org/donate-online. Thank You To all who have supported our Youth Stock sale so far! Our first event of the fall, the Pumpkin Palooza, was fantastic. Over 30 young people of all ages came together for a great afternoon of pumpkin fun! Check out our FaceBook page for pictures! Ten of our high school youth will attend the Immersion Retreat in Wisconsin Dells next weekend to be immersed in their faith with hundreds of other teenagers from throughout the Diocese. The following week, our middle school students will be making crafts and playing games with the residents of Benedictine Manor. How can you become a Stock Holder? Christmas Recital and Pageant Yes! It is November already! This means I can start talking about Advent and preparations for Christmas. Our Christmas Recital and Pageant will be Wednesday, December 19 at 6:00pm. ALL children in Grades K-5 are invited to participate in the pageant as angels, shepherds, kings, and the Holy Family. Middle and High School students are needed as narrators for the pageant. ALL AGES, Elementary, Middle, High School and even adults are invited to participate through sharing their musical talents either vocally or instrumentally by preparing a sacred Christmas/Advent musical piece. All performances must be approved ahead of time by Rebecca. Adult help will be needed in helping out at rehearsals and at the performance. At this time I am also looking for help with laundering, pressing, and mending all of our costumes! Sr. Marysia Weber, RSM, DO, a psychiatrist, will explain how cell phone use and video games are rewiring the brains of young people and what we as parents can to help our children and teens toward healthy intellectual, emotional and spiritual development. These items include: Canned Vegetables, Canned Meat, Canned or Dried Fruit, Granola Bars, Crackers, Cooking Oil, Powdered Milk, Applesauce, Canned Beans, Dried Herbs & Spices, Instant Mashed Potatoes, Boxed Meals, Pasta, Peanut Butter, Soup & Chili, Whole Grain Cereal, Nuts & Rice. Recipe books will be handed out to our guests. We assisted 385 clients with $20,810 in food through the food pantry in 2017? The Aging & Disability Resource Center In the Garden the 2 nd of 3 plays for the Remember Project. Tuesday, November 13, light appetizers at 6:00 pm, concludes with facilitated conversation by 8:30 pm followed by a matinee Wednesday, November 14, snacks at 9:00 am, the program will conclude with facilitated conversation by 11:30 am at Stoney Creek in Onalaska.
