6 STEPHEN MINISTRY IS STARTING a new training class in January 2018, which will give lay people the tools to provide one-on-one, Christ-centered care and support to people experiencing difficult times in their lives such as divorce, loss of a job, loss of a loved one, illness or many other troubling times. For anyone interested in this ministry, there will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, October 17, at 7:00 P.M. in the Fowler Conference Room. GRIEF CARE BEGINS ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, at 6:00 P.M. in the Spitzer Education Building. Featuring video instruction and group discussion, this eight-week ministry offers help and hope to those who have lost someone they love, either recently or several years ago. Call to register. VOLUNTEERS AND THEIR CARS NEEDED for about an hour at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, September 18, to help bring the bags for FISH from the pantry on Weisgarber to our church. If you are able to help on this date (and perhaps at other times in the future), contact Cammy Glover at or cammyglover1605@comcast.net. SHPC SEPTEMBER DECLUTTER DAYS are Friday, September 22, from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. and Saturday, September 23, from 8:00 A.M. until noon. Volunteers are needed to help remove old items not being used and generally straighten and clean the wonderful space we are charged with maintaining. A FLU SHOT CLINIC, sponsored by UT Health Center Pharmacy, is scheduled on September 27, 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. The form to print and complete ahead of time is available on the church s website.
