2 The last day to make a 2016 contribution is, Friday, December 30. Since the business office closes at 12:00 noon, please have any contributions in no later than that. Any items dropped off after that time will be counted in the January 1, 2017 collection. Please plan accordingly. Retirement Fund for Religious collection will be the weekend of December Your donations work for aging religious. I read that roughly 95% of donations to the Retirement Fund for Religious aid senior religious a donor writes. That s wonderful when we truly want our donations to work. Your gift works for elderly religious by helping to furnish medications, nursing care and more. Please support this collection and give to those who have given a lifetime. Christmas Party at Duncan Ballroom following the Saturday, December 10, Mass from 5:00 to 10:00 PM. This is an appreciation and fundraiser for Britt and Garner foodbanks rolled into one! Live music, food and of course, SANTA! The event is sponsored by the FCSLA and St. Wenceslaus Parish Life. Open to the public and a free-will offering. FCSLA will provide a matching grant to the foodbanks. LADIES NIGHT OUT! St. James Council of Catholic Women announce their Christmas party. Jim This week we enter the fullness of the Advent season as we anticipate the three comings of Christ into the world. The Advent season concludes on Christmas Eve with the four Christmas Eve Masses here in the Archangels Catholic Cluster. There will be 4:00 P.M. Masses at both St. Patrick in Britt and St. James in Forest City. Then there is a 6:00 P.M. Mass at St. Wenceslaus in Duncan and a 6:15 P.M. Mass at St. Patrick in Buffalo Center. Christmas Day Masses begin at Midnight at St. James in Forest City. Then Christmas Day Masses continue at 8:30 A.M. at St. Patrick in Lake Mills and at 10:00 A.M. at St. Boniface in Garner. This Christmas Mass schedule will be published in bulletins throughout Advent. Make plans to attend. The Christmas Eve Masses will be focused on children and their celebration of Christmas. At Britt and Duncan, the children will be invited to come forward for a children s homily. The Midnight Mass and other Christmas Day Masses will be oriented toward the whole family. The Midnight Christmas Mass, which will be held at St. James in Forest City, celebrates the second most important liturgy in the Catholic Church when Mary births the incarnated Word in a manger in Bethlehem. If you ve never attended a true Midnight Mass, think about coming this year. Winnebago County Parishes may drop Mass Intentions in the collection basket. All Mass Intentions (for North Parishes) should be sent to Cheryl s attention. Put it in an envelope and mark on it Mass Intentions. Make checks payable to St. James. To hopefully assure a date, (no guarantees), it is best to prepare your list of intentions well in advance of the date you are requesting. We schedule Mass Intentions 4-6 weeks in advance. We try our best to schedule as closely as possible to the date you want. A great way to find announcements and any last-minute changes is on our Facebook page.
