3 Music Makers Ministry is Norfield s Wednesday afternoon program that is open to the whole community from toddlers through grade 6. Our kids are here to explore singing and playing instruments and to get ready to make a musical contribution to Norfield s Sunday morning worship services. We strive to provide an open and accepting atmosphere where the children learn about music making with an emphasis on community. The MMM program relies on support from the congregation, staff, parents, volunteers and, of course, the children themselves who have so many things to do yet choose to be here with us! Please also take a moment to fill out a nametag for yourself so we can greet you by name. Infant and toddler care is available in the lower level of the Christian Education Building. An usher can direct you. You can also see and hear the service in the Greene Room if you need to. A Children s sermon is shared most Sundays and all children are invited to come to the front of the altar and join us. Norfield s Church School, called Discovery Hour, meets during the service. Children leave after the Children s Sermon, accompanied by their teachers. All children are welcome and encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is not necessary. Children can then be picked up following the service at the Christian Education Building. Please ask us for directions. Hearing Assistance System amplifiers are available. Please speak with an usher if you would like to use one. Prayer Cards are located in the pew racks. If you have a prayer request, please fill one out and place it in the offering plate or give it to a minister. We pray over these concerns each week. Please fill in your address and any questions you might have on the back of one of the Prayer Cards in the pews, and then put the card in the offering plate or give it to a minister. Please join us, following the service, for coffee hour in the Parish Hall so we can welcome you personally and introduce ourselves. 7 Announcements CONFIRMATION SUNDAY Next Sunday, May 7, at 10am in the Sanctuary Confirmation Tea to follow in the Parish Hall The Class of 2017 will be confirmed in their Christian faith and received into membership. There are seventeen young persons in this year s class and they have spent the past year learning and growing in the faith and their understanding of their own journey. Please join us to support them at this important milestone in their lives. Youth Gro u p News The Confirmation Class will meet tonight from 5 until 7 pm for our rehearsal for next Sunday s Confirmation Service. Don t miss it! M u sic News Our midweek programming is finished for the season. Thanks so much to all of our volunteers and staff who made our Music Makers Ministry so fun for everyone. We ll be back in September. All families of the MMM program, adult choir members, music board members and soloists, everyone who was part of our music program in the past year: you are all invited to join together for a year-end potluck dinner celebration in the Parish Hall, from 6 to 7 pm on Wednesday, May 17. Time for a party! Thank you to the Board of Outreach for the wonderful Spring Into Life Auction. Norfield is grateful to have such dedicated volunteers!
