People: Our God loves us with an everlasting love, as a father loves his children. Leader: Our God gathers us together from the north and the south, the east and the west. People: And leads us beside quiet streams, and shows us the way we should go. *Hymn No. 562 Eternal Father, Strong to Save MELITA Welcome and Announcements Pastoral Prayer The Lord s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. The children will remain in worship service with their families.

This curiosity, this thirst for truth has led them here to this place, and we are so grateful for the privileged years of friendship, of diligence and struggle, of new insight and discovery.

3 People: And now, as they go from here we ask that you would graciously continue to fill them with a deep and abiding knowledge of your love for them. And we ask that, by your Spirit, they may tend to the world and help set it right once again. Give them open hearts to feel its pain, and courage enough not to be overwhelmed by its suffering. May they taste the joy of seeing your kingdom come in every corner of this planet. May mercy, beauty and hope be theirs, in this world for your glory. Do not hesitate to ask one of our greeters or ushers, a deacon (identified by name badges), or one of our ministers. Please also take a moment to fill out a nametag for yourself so we can greet you by name. Infant and toddler care is available in the lower level of the Christian Education Building. An usher can direct you. You can also see and hear the service in the Greene Room if you need to. A Children s sermon is shared most Sundays and all children are invited to come to the front of the altar and join us. Norfield s Church School, called Discovery Hour, meets during the service. Children leave after the Children s Sermon, accompanied by their teachers. All children are welcome and encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is not necessary. Children can then be picked up following the service at the Christian Education Building. Please ask us for directions. Hearing Assistance System amplifiers are available. Please speak with an usher if you would like to use one. Large Print Bulletins are available, including all hymn texts and responsive readings. Please speak with an usher if you would like to use one. Prayer Cards are located in the pew racks. If you have a prayer request, please fill one out and place it in the offering plate or give it to a minister. We pray over these concerns each week. Please fill in your address and any questions you might have on the back of one of the Prayer Cards in the pews, and then put the card in the offering plate or give it to a minister. 7 Please join your fellow Norfielders on Sun. July 30th and Sun. August 13th at 8:30am at beautiful Compo Beach for worship service! It's a BYOC event - "bring your own chair." Everyone can park for free, even if you don't have a Westport beach sticker- just tell the gate attendant that you're attending the church service and look for us near the cannons. The dress code is casual - flip flops and nice shorts are fine! Please note that worship service will also take place in the sanctuary at 10:00am for those unable to attend the beach service. Pivot Ministries We are blessed to have the Pivot Ministries Men s Choir joining us in worship service today. Please greet them with a warm Norfield welcome at Coffee Hour! Pivot Ministries is a residential treatment program located in Bridgeport and Norwalk, CT. and is a long-standing beneficiary of the Norfield Board of Outreach. The Pivot process is faith-based and is a nonprofit agency with four decades of successful experience assisting men challenged by alcohol and substance abuse. Pivot s mission is to treat drug and alcohol addiction as a spiritual problem and return the men to their families usefully whole.
