1 CROSS OF CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH Griswold Road South Lyon, MI (248) S E P T E M B E R, crosslut@bignet.net Dear Beloved Members and Friends, During the Labor Day weekend, we remember laborers and our labor. We thank God for laborers and all the work they do. We thank the Lord for all godly vocations and occupations. We remember and thank God for doctors, nurses, housewives, teachers, teacher aides, secretaries, auto workers, police officers, construction workers, bus and truck drivers, farmers, landscapers, restaurant workers, realtors, veterinarians, accountants, bankers, postal workers, lawyers, managers, engineers, food service workers, sales people, florists, librarians, painters, repairmen, electricians, supervisors, grocery workers, business people, credit counselors, social workers, factory workers, dental workers, and insurance workers. I thank God for you and the work that you do. I thank the Lord for working through you to help people. Jesus did work on the cross to help you. Christ agonized to make you holy so that you can keep on loving each other as brothers. Your Lord languished outside the Jerusalem city gate to make you holy through His blood. The Holy Spirit encourages you to keep on loving each other as brothers. (Heb. 13:1) Let brotherly love remain in your relationships with one another. Regard each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. You are spiritual brothers. The Spirit leads and empowers you to continue to love one another as brothers and sisters in Christ. Christ suffered outside the Jerusalem city gate to make people holy by His blood shed on the cross. Golgatha, the hill where Christ was crucified, was just outside the Jerusalem city gate. Our Lord suffered great agony of body and spirit when he languished for six hours on the cross. Jesus made you holy through His blood shed on the cross. Christ s blood cleansed you from all sin. Jesus blood paid the price in full for all your sins. Christ s blood set you free from your sins. Your Lord suffered and shed His blood to sanctify you. You are holy in God s sight by faith in Christ. During this month of September, we remember our Lord who labored for us in His life and crucifixion. We remember our Lord when we partake of His Supper. We remember our Lord when we worship Him. Jesus helps you to continue to love one another as brothers. Thank the Lord and sing His praise. May God bless you and your family during this month of September and always. Sincerely Yours in Christ, Pastor Terry Nelson The summer worship time of 9:30 a.m. continues through the Labor Day weekend (September 2). The worship times of 8:00 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. return on September 9. The Counselor guides you to remember to entertain strangers. Greet people at church that you do not know. Introduce yourself to them. Invite them to meals, activities, services, and Bible studies. Be hospitable to them. We will be blessed by receiving strangers.
