As this generation s good stewards, we are obligated to pass on the gift of faith to our children. Children primarily learn through the examples of their parents. Today, many parents are volunteering their time and talents to their churches and community groups and bringing their children along with them. More and more churches are encouraging children to return a portion of their treasure their allowance or other earnings with special children s offering envelopes. As we know from our own experience, it takes a lifetime to develop the habits of good stewardship. God has blessed us in so many marvelous ways. Stewardship is a way of life built around gratitude to God, lived out by returning a portion of the time, talent, and treasure allotted to us. There is no more precious inheritance we can pass on to our children than this lifestyle of gratitude. If you will give these instructions..., you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound teaching you have followed. (1 Timothy 4:6) UPDATE ON PARKING LOT: Due to the late spring weather, the contractor who will be doing our walkway and parking lot is backed up. We now expect to do this work in the summer. 3 ROSARY ALTAR SOCIETY The mission of the Society is to honor the Blessed Mother by proclaiming the Good News of Christ, her Son, in our members' lives and in rela onships with others; to promote the praying of the Rosary; to encourage a spirit of friendship and coopera on among its members and to par cipate in parish ac vi es. The May mee ng of the Rosary Altar Society will be held on Wednesday, May 16th at 1PM downstairs in Classroom 15. We will hold our annual Bingo. For $1 members can play Bingo all a ernoon. Members are asked to bring a wrapped gi to be used as a prize. New members are always welcome! NEW MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME! Parish Organizations and Info OUR LADY ROSARY MAKERS Please join us as we make rosaries sent to missions around the world. It is fun, easy, inexpensive and very rewarding! We meet in the Conference Room on the second Tuesday of each month following the 9am Mass and Rosary. For more information, please call Theresa Carson at The final meeting of the season for the Rosary Makers will be Tuesday, May 8 in the Conference Room after the 9am Mass and Rosary. Meetings will resume on the second Tuesday in September. The Blessed Sacrament Council of Catholic Women s mission is to respond with Christian values to the needs of women and their families. We are here to unite women of our Parish, to develop their spiritual growth and leadership potential and to encourage women to share their gifts from God with others in our Church and community. VOCATIONS TRAVELING CHALICE PROGRAM The Voca on Seekers give special thanks to the Voca onist Sisters, who took the voca ons traveling chalice home and prayed for Voca ons, par cularly for seminarians in the Diocese of Metuchen. Please consider taking the chalice home to pray for voca ons. Your prayers are truly being answered! We especially need volunteers for May. Please sign up in the foyer and pick up and return the Voca on Traveling Chalice to the foyer. REMINDER - please remember to take the chalice on your selected date and return it by noon on Saturday. Thank you to all parishioners who baked, purchased and donated to our Sale! A special thank you to the Rosary Makers who baked for our Sale. We also thank Catherine Diana, for letting us sell the shopping bags, bottle bags and aprons that she beautifully sews and the neck scarves that she knits! We once again thank Maureen Koenen, a special parishioner, who baked so many delicious breads, cakes and cookies for our Bake Sale!!Because of all the support we received, we collected $1,335 from our Bake Sale. $ will be donated to the Rosary Makers to help cover the cost of sending rosaries all over the world! 5 Safety Meeting for Teenage Catechists, Catechist Aides and Vacation Bible School Volunteers Who Work with Children Following diocesan policy, we are holding a safety training meeting on Tuesday, May 15, at 6:30 PM in the conference room. Teenage volunteers under 18 must attend with a parent. Volunteers who are 18 and have not yet been Virtus trained must also attend, but their parents do not need to attend. Please RSVP to the Parish Office. THANK YOU! To all the Parishioners who donated gift cards to our families in need during this Easter Season. Thanks also to the Rosary Altar Society who donated baked goods and to the Knights of Columbus who donated meals. Your contributions helped to support nine families during this holy season. SAVE THE DATE 2018 Picnic Harvest Festival Sunday, October Picnic Planning Meeting Monday, June 11 6:30 PM Conference Room BABY BOTTLE FUNDRAISER During the month of May when we honor Our Blessed Mother and all mothers, the Rosary Altar Society will conduct their Baby Bottle Fundraiser for the Pregnancy Aid and Information Center of Raritan. The Center provides the necessities needed to help mothers care for their babies. This is done completely through financial donations. Baby bottles will be available at the entrances to the church beginning April 28th. Please take a bottle home and fill it with your spare change or bills. You may choose to enclose a check payable to Pregnancy Aid & Information Center, Inc. A donation jar will be available for those who do not wish to take a bottle home.
