In Honor of our 50 th Anniversary, we were blessed to have Msgr. Prus concelebrate the Mass and share the History of the Church with us, a history of which he is very much a part. It was also an honor to have Bishop Checchio join us for our 50 th Anniversary celebra on. I would like to thank everyone who made this day a huge success. Thank you to all the ministries who par cipated in the Ministry Fair, to Ro Bersch and the Hospitality Commi ee that set up and helped decorate the Parish Hall, to Teresa Rusmisel who did all the decora ons for the Parish Hall, to the Youth Group and all the 8 th Grade volunteers who helped wherever needed. Thank you to Peter Freda for his assistance in se ng up the grounds and the Parish Hall, to Michael Ghabrial for calling the Bingo game, to Michael Burns for being our DJ and assis ng with the Ministry Fair, to Kyle O Hara for se ng up tables and chairs inside and outside, to John Fus, Mark Huff, Harley Juth and Vernon Smith for assis ng in the kitchen, to the Rescue Squad for standing by, and to our nurse Bernade e McGovern for being available if needed, and to Stosh for keeping everything clean and dy. Thanks also to Pa y, Catherine, Michele and Donna for all their work in making this whole day possible. Thanks to all who joined us in our celebra on! 3 Parish Organizations and Info ROSARY ALTAR SOCIETY The mission of the Society is to honor the Blessed Mother by proclaiming the Good News of Christ, her Son, in our members' lives and in rela onships with others; to promote the praying of the Rosary; to encourage a spirit of friendship and coopera on among its members and to par cipate in parish ac vi es. The Blessed Sacrament Council of Catholic Women s mission is to respond with Christian values to the needs of women and their families. The Circle of Friends holds monthly meetings on the third Sunday of the month, September thru June at 1:30 pm in Classroom 15. Our next meeting will be on October 21st at 1:30 pm in classroom 15. FLU SEASON IS HERE With the onset of flu season, you may not be feeling 100%. Please know that it is totally appropriate to nod at the Sign of Peace, rather than shaking hands. We also would appreciate your refraining from taking the cup at communion. Receiving the host in your hand is appropriate and is full communion. Hand sanitizer is also available on tables in the narthex and along the side wall of the church (where Eucharistic Ministers use hand sanitizer prior to distributing communion at Mass.) Please feel free to use these before or after Mass. We appreciate your consideration of your fellow parishioners by following these guidelines. VOCATIONS TRAVELING CHALICE PROGRAM The Vocation Seekers give special thanks to those who take the vocations traveling chalice home and pray for Vocations, particularly for seminarians in the Diocese of Metuchen. Please consider taking the chalice home to pray for vocations. Your prayers are truly being answered! We especially need volunteers for October. Please sign up in the foyer and pick up and return the Vocation Traveling Chalice to the foyer. REMINDER - please remember to take the chalice on your selected date and return it by noon on Saturday.
