This year s event will be lead once again by Infuzion and the best part - it is all FREE. This is open to your friends as well, so please invite them! There is a sign-up sheet outside the youth room on the youth group bulletin board. If you have any questions - please speak with Deacon Reitz. RIVENDELL STUDY CENTER to begin classes at St. Bartholomew's September 5th! The Vestry approved an agreement for use of our building for the above ministry to children who are home schooled. This ministry will use our second floor classrooms for educational purposes every Monday and Wednesday of the week. The Rivendell Study Center is a biblically based and Christ-centered ministry that seeks to assist parents who are homeschooling their children. There are over 40 students grades K-12th in the program. The children of three of our member families have participated in the classes for the last several years. Rivendell had been using the facility at Knox Presbyterian Church but has outgrown it. Both your vestry and clergy believe this venture to be a good use of our space and a way we can be engaged with the local Christian community. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time. Yours in Christ, Fr. Ward St. Bart's Web Information also see our Facebook page for more! 2 Our Mission is to equip and enable believers to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ by word and deed, both locally and abroad. Locally, Nationally and Internationally! Your Global Missions Ministry set into motion many ministry initiatives. Here are some of the many coming up! Rock, Rods and Relationships Saturday, August 17 was a wonderful success. A great many of our parish showed and shared the love of Christ with those who came to St. Bart s for the first time. The foods was great and the music was done with excellence. Integrity Bottle Recycling - Folks are encouraged to bring their bottles to Integrity (located next to St. Bart s) and the money from their deposits goes to support St. Bart s Mission Initiatives. We have already received several checks that will be used for Missions at St. Bart s. Crescent Project - We are reviewing the video teaching series Bridges on understanding Muslims and will present to the parish as a Friday Night Bible Study in the Fall. Compassion Weekend - October 5 & 6 we will have packets available for people to sponsor a Compassion Child. Health Fair - Come join us on Saturday, September 7, from 10 AM to 1 PM. There will be testing for blood sugar, cholesterol, BP, Flu vaccine and Pneumonia vaccine available. Our next meeting is Wednesday, September 4 at 6 PM. Please come and joins us - you don t have to be a missionary to attend!!!!! To donate and support the LeMarquands, send your check to SAMS (Society of Anglican Missionaries and Senders) PO Box 399, Ambridge, PA (put their name the MEMO line of check) 2

We meet every other Tuesday evening at 6:30 and end at approximately 8 p.m. This year we will be studying and learning about the men of the Bible beginning with Adam and how they inspire us by their successes, how they challenge us with their failures and encourage us by the fresh insights they bring to our own struggles and challenges. Our text is the Holy Bible and we will use it as we study their life stories together and see how the Lord worked in their lives and also ours today! We will also use a variety of DVD s to supplement our study. Our first is entitled The Potter. We will see how the Lord shapes and transforms the lives of His own for His own purposes as a testimony to Him. You won t want to miss this! Another DVD we will view and discuss is The Dawning by Dr. Joseph Stowell. Dates for our Study are as follows: Sept. 10, Sept. 24, Oct. 8, Oct. 22, Nov. 5, Nov. 19, and Dec. 3. Please contact Elaine Henzler for more information at Looking forward to seeing YOU! 19
