Adopt-a-Family sponsored by St. Francis Outreach will be initiated the weekend of November 22 nd and 23rd This is your opportunity to assist those of Grapevine and the surrounding communities to have a joyful Christmas. Through the Adopt-A-Family program, adults and children are available for adoption. Ornaments are placed on the tree which represent individuals and their Christmas Wish List item. The desired item can then be purchased to help fulfill their Christmas wish. Assistance can also be provided in other ways. Through the Utility Assistance program, cash contributions will be set aside to provide assistance with the higher winter utility bills. Produce vouchers through grocery store gift certificates can be donated to allow families to purchase perishable items which are not provided in the holiday food baskets. Department store gift certificates may be donated to allow Angel Shoppers to purchase wished for items All ornaments taken must be returned by December 8 th 2014 with gift attached unwrapped please. We let the families of those adopted wrap the gift for their loved ones. Thanks so much Thanksgiving Day Mass Thursday, November 27 9:00am You are invited to bring food to be blessed, representative of your thanksgiving meal. Parish Office will close on Wed., November 26 at 12:00 noon and will remain closed until Monday, December 1st. There will be Daily Mass on Friday, November 28th at 8:30am. The building will be closed immediately following. There will be no Adoration. Book of Remembrance: During the month of November, Catholics remember their deceased loved ones in a special way. The following items are needed to prepare Thanksgiving Baskets for those served by St. Francis Outreach. Thanksgiving Baskets Items Stuffing Mix Instant Potatoes Canned sweet potatoes Chicken broth Cranberry sauce Gravy mix (no glass) Canned string beans, peas & corn Bag of sugar or flour (small) Boxed pie crust mix Canned pumpkin mix Rice-small bag Coffee or Tea Fruit cocktail Cream of mushroom soup Canned french fried onions Frozen Chicken (2-3 pounds) Evaporated milk Small marshmallows Turkeys (brought to Outreach on Saturdays) Please consider donating these items needed for everyday use: Everyday Items Laundry detergent Dish soap Toothpaste and tooth brushes Toilet paper Deodorant Bar bath soap St. Francis Outreach will be sending packages to any loved ones serving in the military and away from home this Holiday Season.
