1 Launch out into the deep Feb Luke 4:4 Jesus, Wednesday Readings 4... Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. Luke 5: And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him. Matt. 0:, 5 (to 3rd,), 7 as, 8 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness /7

2 5 7 8 and all manner of disease. These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Luke 0:, 7, 8 (to,) 7 8 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them,... John 4:2 2 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. SH 2: We must look deep into realism instead of accepting only the outward sense of things. Ontology needed SH 35: 8 The miracle introduces no disorder, but unfolds the primal order, establishing the Science of God's unchangeable law. SH 33:23 2 Jesus of Nazareth was the most scientific man that 24 ever trod the globe. He plunged beneath the material surface of things, and found the spiritual cause. Jesus the Scientist SH 22: 4 We cannot fathom the nature and quality of God's creation by diving into the shallows of mortal belief. We must reverse our feeble flutterings our efforts to find 2 life and truth in matter and rise above the testimony of the material senses, above the mortal to the immortal idea of God. 2/7

3 SH 42:3 4 3 For right reasoning there should be but one fact before the thought, namely, spiritual existence. SH :23 The calm, strong currents of true spirituality, the 24 manifestations of which are health, purity, and selfimmolation, must deepen human experience, until the beliefs of material existence are seen to be a bald imposition, and sin, disease, and death give everlasting place 27 to the scientific demonstration of divine Spirit and to God's spiritual, perfect man. SH 0:32 3 The three great verities of Spirit, omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience, Spirit possessing all power, filling all space, constituting all Science, contradict 3 forever the belief that matter can be actual. SH 3:5 2 In proportion as matter loses to human sense all entity as man, in that proportion does man become its master. He enters into a diviner sense of the facts, and comprehends the theology of Jesus as demonstrated in healing the sick, raising the dead, and walking over the wave. All these deeds manifested Jesus' control over the belief that matter is substance, that it can be the arbiter of life or the constructor of any form of existence. Man s entity SH 2:28 32 Our Master taught no mere theory, doctrine, or belief. It was the divine Principle of all real being which he 30 taught and practised. His proof of Christianity was no form or system of religion and worship, but Christian Science, working out the harmony of Life and Love. SH 42:3 Whoever would demonstrate the healing of Christian Science must abide strictly by its rules, heed every statement, and advance from the rudiments laid down. There is nothing difficult nor toilsome in this task, when the way is pointed out; but self-denial, sincerity, Christianity, and 8 persistence alone win the prize, as they usually do in every department of life. 3/7

4 SH 27:2 2 Those, who are willing to leave their nets or to cast 27 them on the right side for Truth, have the opportunity now, as aforetime, to learn and to practise Christian healing. The Scriptures contain it. Modern evangel SH 3:4 From beginning to end, the Scriptures are full of accounts of the triumph of Spirit, Mind, over matter. Moses proved the power of Mind by what men called miracles; so did Joshua, Elijah, and Elisha. The Christian era was ushered in with signs and wonders. Marvels and reformations SH 38:7 8 Jesus established in the Christian era the precedent for all Christianity, theology, and healing. 8 SH 3:4 2nd He He overcame the world, the flesh, and all error, thus proving their nothingness. Mockery of truth SH 32:7 2 (to st.), 7 2 Because you cannot walk on the water and raise the dead, you have no right to question the great might of divine Science in these directions. Be thankful that Jesus, who was the true demonstrator of Science, did these things, and left his example for us. Imitation of Jesus 8 To be discouraged, is to resemble a pupil in addition, who attempts to solve a problem of Euclid, and denies the rule of the problem because he fails in his first effort. SH 7: It is not wise to take a halting and half-way position or to expect to work equally with Spirit and matter, Truth and error. There is but one way namely, God and His idea which leads to spiritual being. Half-way success SH 5: 4 2 Hu- 4/7

5 2 man capacity is slow to discern and to grasp God's creation and the divine power and presence which go with it, demonstrating its spiritual origin. Infinity measureless SH : 7 The human thought must free itself from self-imposed materiality and bondage. SH 34: Through all the disciples experienced, they became more spiritual and understood better what the Master had taught. SH 323:32 2 Willingness to become as a little child and to leave the old for the new, renders thought receptive of the advanced idea. SH 45: Question. How can I progress most rapidly in the understanding of Christian Science? Answer. Study thoroughly the letter and imbibe the spirit. Adhere to the divine Principle of Christian Science and follow the behests of God, abiding steadfastly in wisdom, Truth, and Love. Rudiments and growth SH 45:25 27 (to.) A Christian Scientist requires my work SCIENCE AND HEALTH for his textbook, and so do all his students and patients. 27 SH 55:20 2 Read (to 2nd.) Read this book from beginning to end. Study it, ponder it. 2 SH 547: You can prove for yourself, dear reader, the Science of healing, and so ascertain if the author has given you the correct interpretation of Scripture. SH x: 7 By thousands of well-authenticated cases of healing, she and her students have proved the worth of her teachings. SH 7:2 3 2 Mind's control over the universe, including man, is no longer an open question, but is demonstrable Science. SH 382:5 8 If half the attention given to hygiene were given to the study of Christian Science and to the spiritualization of thought, this alone would usher in the millennium. Hygiene excessive SH 288: Science reveals the glorious possibilities of immortal man, forever unlimited by the mortal senses. SH 43:27 27 The divine must overcome the human at every point. The Science Jesus taught and lived must triumph over all material beliefs about life, substance, and intelligence, and the multitudinous errors growing from such 30 beliefs. SH 333: 3 Christ expresses God's spiritual, eternal nature. The name is synonymous with Messiah, and alludes to the spirituality which is taught, illustrated, and 2 demonstrated in the life of which Christ Jesus was the embodiment. SH 82:32 4 The law of Christ, or Truth, makes all things possible to Spirit; but the socalled laws of matter would render Spirit of no avail, and 3 demand obedience to materialistic codes, thus departing from the basis of one God, one lawmaker. 7 You render the divine law of healing obscure and void, when you weigh the human in the scale with the divine, or limit in any direction of 8 thought the omnipresence and omnipotence of God. SH 427:23 25 Immortal Mind, 24 governing all, must be acknowledged as supreme in the physical realm, so-called, as well as in the spiritual. SH 83: The belief that the universe, including man, is governed in general by material laws, but 8 that occasionally Spirit sets aside these laws, this belief belittles omnipotent wisdom, and gives to matter the precedence over Spirit. SH 233: 5 Every day makes its demands upon us for higher proofs rather than professions of Christian power. 3 These proofs consist solely in the destruction of sin, sickness, and death by the power of Spirit, as Jesus destroyed them. Profession and proof SH 24:3 As mortals gain more correct views of God and man, multitudinous objects of creation, which before were invisible, will become visible.
