A message from Napier Family Centre- Thank you all for your wonderful contributions to our Christmas Cheer programme. We are very grateful for your gifts so thoughtfully chosen. Our parcels were delivered about December 20th to nearly 60 families, consisting of around 158 children. A reminder- To comply with the Cathedral s Health and safety policies, it is vital that all staff and volunteers report to the office and sign in so that we have a record of who is in the building and in what area. Electoral roll- We are updating our systems. If you would like to be on our Electoral roll and have rights to vote at the AGM please fill out a form at the back of the Church. 7 The Environment Justice and Peace Network begins the year with a planning meeting on Sunday February 10 at 4pm in the parish meeting room. ALL WELCOME! (Please note the change of date) This meeting will set goals for the year and look at our organisation, shared leadership and what is needed to sustain the network. More information will be forwarded with the agenda. EJP has received news that the St John s University Fence Project in Dodoma, Tanzania has been completed. EJP and the Cathedral Parish fundraised for this in 2016/17. Educational Aid for International Development wishes to thank everyone who donated to this project to make the University safer for students and staff. LOOKING AHEAD: A Beach Clean Up for Sea Week will be held Friday March 8 at 5pm beginning at the Surf Life Saving Club, Marine Parade. This will be combined with the Catholic Parish of Napier who are now taking on the adjacent stretch of beach. We are pleased to hear that Unity Week will be reinstated and look forward to working with Napier Pilot City Trust: Message from Mark Cleary: Happy New Year to the friends and supporters of the Napier Pilot City Trust! Our Unity Celebrations will take place on Wednesday, 24th April with Sir Kim Workman delivering the Robson Lecture and presenting the Awards. We are planning a full day of activities focusing on our Vision of Napier as a Fair and Kind City. Along with the Robson Lecture, the Unity Awards and Dinner, we will have forums on Restorative Justice and the roles local and central government can play in supporting Napier realise Anne Hercus's dream of the city piloting working alternatives to violence. The Unity Hikoi Marae to Marae walk from Tangoio to Pukemokimoki will take place the follow on Sunday 28th April. Details to follow.
