More recently, the group has begun supporting the Comfort Cases project for foster kids. What's needed to help with this ministry is willing hands to cut, stuff and sew. The group meets on alternating Monday nights from 7 to 8:30 in Room 124. Next sessions: June 4 and June 18. We also have homework projects for those who can't make the evening sessions. And if you know of someone recovering from surgery or illness who might appreciate one of our comfort pillows, please let us know! Contact Molly Sprouse at mollysprouse@gmail.com. Trinity needs to form 4 new leadership teams. Look at the ones listed and ask yourself where your spiritual gifts align with a team. 1. Vision Team - Create a vision for Trinity s ministries. Design a volunteer recruiting and membership training event. 2. Vision Fundraising Team (VFT) - Develop a kickoff sermon series; launch a fall Stewardship Campaign; plan and execute a Capital Campaign. 3. Hospitality - Communication Connection Team (CCT) - Develop a comprehensive plan to improve our hospitality. CCT with the Staff will create a Worship Planning Team (WPT) to connect Trinity s worship to the community. 4. The Offertory Anthem was composed in 1980 by John Rutter (b. 1945), who created an entirely new melody full of charm and lightness to complement the traditional text (see #92 in our Hymnal). The Postlude was published in 1720 by George Frideric Handel as the last movement of his seventh keyboard Suite; it is a series of fifteen variations that progress from the sedate theme to a cascade of scales and arpeggios. 9 a.m p.m. Ages 3 - rising 4th grade Volunteer / Register at umtrinity.org/education/vbs Questions? 6 There s Within My Heart a Melody There's within my heart a melody Jesus whispers sweet and low: "Fear not, I am with thee, peace, be still," in all of life's ebb and flow. Refrain: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, sweetest name I know, fills my every longing, keeps me singing as I go. All my life was wrecked by sin and strife, discord filled my heart with pain; Jesus swept across the broken strings, stirred the slumbering chords again. [Refrain] Feasting on the riches of his grace, resting 'neath his sheltering wing, always looking on his smiling face that is why I shout and sing. [Refrain] Though sometimes he leads through waters deep, trials fall across the way, though sometimes the path seems rough and steep, see his footprints all the way. [Refrain] Soon he's coming back to welcome me far beyond the starry sky; I shall wing my flight to worlds unknown; I shall reign with him on high. [Refrain] Love Divine, All Loves Excelling Love divine, all loves excelling, joy of heaven, to earth come down, fix in us thy humble dwelling, all thy faithful mercies crown; Jesus, thou art all compassion, pure, unbounded love thou art; visit us with thy salvation, enter every trembling heart. Breathe, O breathe thy loving Spirit into every troubled breast; let us all in thee inherit, let us find the promised rest; take away the love of sinning, alpha and omega be; end of faith, as its beginning, set our hearts at liberty. Come, almighty to deliver, let us all thy life receive; suddenly return and never, nevermore thy temples leave. Thee we would be always blessing, serve thee as thy hosts above, pray and praise thee without ceasing, glory in thy perfect love. Finish then thy new creation, pure and spotless let us be; let us see thy great salvation perfectly restored in thee; changed from glory into glory, till in heaven we take our place, till we cast our crowns before thee, lost in wonder, love, and praise. Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you, or from you? You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on your hearts, to be known and read by all men; and you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. 2 Corinthians 3:1-6 Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are competent of ourselves to claim anything as coming from us; our competence is from God, who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not in a written code but in the Spirit; for the written code kills, but the Spirit gives life. hymns & scripture
