His contact information is: Telephone: Cell: or O: ; christpastormike@comcast.net Advent/Christmas Schedule November 28 First Sunday of Advent, Theme: Waiting Come and share together as the excitement of the Big Day approaches December 5 Second Sunday of Advent, Theme: Preparation All are welcome to be a part of Christ s hospitality and share in this wonderful season. December 12 Third Sunday of Advent, Theme: Joy Bring a friend to share Christ s joy. From 3 to 5 p.m. there will be Christmas Caroling to our homecare residents, followed by a time of fellowship with wonderful holiday snacks. You are welcome to attend the caroling and/or fellowship time. December 19 Fourth Sunday of Advent, Theme: Hope The music ministry of Christ Church will be offering a wonderful Christmas celebration of anthems, bells, Scripture and carols. December 24 Christmas Eve Bring family and friends as we all celebrate together the coming of Christ!! 7:15 p.m. Pre-service, Organ Recital featuring Nancy Fogelsanger and featured soloist Leah Serr. December 26 First Sunday after Christmas Be part of our Christmas celebration! Recipe Sunday Chapter Two is today, November 21 after the 10:45 Worship Service. Please join us for some delicious holiday favorites! Community Thanksgiving Eve Service will be this coming Wednesday, November 24 at 7:00 p.m., at Christ United Methodist Church, lead by the Shippensburg Association of Christian Minister. The Fruitbelt Farmworkers Christian Ministry is selling Christmas fruit boxes. Forms are available on the tables at the rear of the church. Deadline: December 6, Orders can be given to Bill or Jane Morgan or sent in directly. This is one of the supported ministries of Christ United Methodist Church. It s time once again to order poinsettias. Order forms may be picked up at the back of the sanctuary. Any questions please call Cathy Campbell at A Christmas tree is at the back of the sanctuary for the United Methodist Home for Children. On the tree are paper ornaments. Each ornament designates a gift item or monetary contribution which will be donated to the children's home. Collection bins are in Hollar Hall. Items will be collected until December 4th. If you have changed your address or any personal information ( address or phone number), please write it out when signing the welcome pad. Thank you!

2 The Ministry & Nurture Committee would like to collect addresses for our College Students so that we may stay in contact with them as they continue their education. Please provide name and current address to either JoAnn VanDixon or Rose Dillner In support of the United Campus Ministry mission trip to Vietnam in December 2010 there will be a Penny Drive. Watch for the arrival of a large glass water jug. Our hope is to fill the jug with pennies to support the mission trip to Vietnam. Your gift of pennies will help our brothers and sisters in need. The Ladies Blanket of Prayer Group meets on Thursday s at 7:00 p.m. We take time to lift whatever God puts on our hearts and minds. Please come to 8220 Scenic Drive (home of Kevin & Cathy Campbell), Shippensburg if you would like to check it out. It is a great way to strengthen your relationship with God and with each other. Any questions, please contact All ladies of are welcome. The Book Discussion group meets the first Monday of the month. The November book club will be held at noon at the Corner Coffee. All are welcome to join, so borrow the book from the library, buy the book, or download it onto your kindle and read, read, read, and then join us for a lively discussion! We meet the first Monday of every month at 1:00. The selections are as follows: Dec: Olive Kitteredge by Elizabeth Stout January - Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay February - The Help by Kathryn Stockett A fun way to support Christ UMC is by volunteering at Hershey Park. Each worker makes $5.85 per hour, receives a ticket to the park- valid for one year, and eats a meal. All the money made is sent to the church and is used by the church as specified by the individual working. It is an easy and fun way to raise money. For more specifics speak with Annette ( ). Are you ready for another year of knitting Prayer Shawls? If so, get out your patterns, buy your yarn, and join The Yarn Spinners for a morning of fellowship and knitting on December 15, at 10:00 a.m. in the church library. Mission Central supplies needed. We will be collecting the following items: - Gallon zip lock bags - Baby receiving blankets. Please place these items in Hollar Hall in the designated bin.
