We especially greet those who are worshiping with us for the first time and rejoice that you have chosen to spend this special time with God and us. The flowers on the altar are from the funeral held Thursday in memory of Jay Davidson, former member of our church, who died Nov. 2, Rev. Byron Kraft officiated at the service held at Fogelsanger- Bricker funeral home.. Jay and his wife Jo were very active in our church and remembered lovingly for all the ways they contributed to this church, through Jo's mission work, and Sunday School teaching during the many years they lived in Shippensburg. The family members were all active in the church activities and projects. Jay spent his early teaching career at Shippensburg High School and in 1966 he began his 30 yr. teaching career at Shippensburg University. He leaves 4 children, Frank and wife Glenda; Jeff and wife Kathleen; Jennifer and husband James; and Debbie and companion Kevin. Six grandchildren are also a part of the family. Jay was remembered as a generous person who supported many worthy organizations. Contributions in his memory may be sent to The Humane Society of Harrisburg area, 7790 Grayson Rd., Harrisburg, PA , or to The American Chestnut Foundation, 160 Zillicoa St., Ste D. Asheville, NC, 28801` On Tuesday, November 12 the United Methodist Women and the Ministry and Nurture Committee will be meeting in the church library at 1:00 p.m. We will be going to visit our shut-ins. Anyone of the church is welcome to join us. Any questions please call Georgia at On Sunday, November 17, there will be a meeting following the 10:30 a.m. worship service for those interested in helping with the parade float. Please come see how you can help out. Safe Sanctuary training will be offered from 9 am to noon on November 16 at St. Mary's UMC in Newville. The address is 4133 Enola Road Newville. Contact Rev. Anyone who knits or crochets is welcome. Anyone interested in being a greeter or usher please contact someone of the Hospitality Committee. If you are willing to serve as a liturgist, please sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board outside Bernice Hollar Hall, leave a message with the church secretary, or tell Bill Morgan.

2 If you would like to place altar flowers in the month of November, please contact the church office or sign-up on the Flower Chart. Flowers may be dedicated in honor or memory of someone, to commemorate a special date, or to the glory of God. The sign-up chart is just outside Hollar Hall, for your convenience. If you know of anyone in need of transportation to or from Worship service please contact Steve VanDixon or Bill Morgan We will make every attempt to see that this is not an obstacle for anyone wishing to worship! If you have a prayer request, you may call the prayer-chain, starting with Linda Miller, A fun way to support Christ UMC is by volunteering at Hershey Park. Each worker makes an hourly rate, receives a ticket to the park- valid for one year, and eats a meal. All the money made is sent to the church and is used by the church as specified by the individual working. It is an easy and fun way to raise money. For more specifics speak with Annette ( ). 3 TOTES FOR TOTS: If you have a baby or toddler with you during worship this morning, our ushers will be happy to give you a tote filled with toys/books for children ages 0-5. At the end of the service, just leave the bag on your pew, and we'll take care of it. If your little one would like to take something with him/her from the tote bag, let it be our gift to you! We're so glad to have the children at worship with us! Nursery care is available during worship service for children under the age of 5. If you have a young child and would like to take advantage of our nursery care please do not hesitate to contact one of the greeters or any of the ushers before or even during the worship service.
