Please call the parish office in advance to register for the class and the baptism. Sacrament of Marriage The common policy of the Diocese of Madison requires a six month minimum notice before the date of marriage. Sick Calls or Team Care Please notify the parish office if you or someone you know would like Holy Communion at home, is in the hospital, or in need of Team Care.
2 NEWS & NOTES Father Edward Aigner - Cross Catholic Outreach We welcome Father Edward Aigner of Cross Catholic Outreach who is speaking this weekend at all Masses on behalf of the poor in developing countries. Cross Catholic Outreach was founded to create a meaningful link between parishes in America and the priests and nuns working in the church overseas in the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Center and South America. Traveling Chalice Program In January the Traveling Chalice is at Saint Patrick. As part of the Traveling Chalice Program, each host family is asked to say a prayer each day as a family for increased vocations and for current seminarians in the diocese, and to display the chalice in an appropriate but visible place at home. In monthly rotation, the Traveling Chalice will return to Saint Michael and Saint Thomas. Look for sign-up sheets for, January at Saint Patrick, February at Saint Michael and March at Saint Thomas near the church entrances. Vocations... Called to Priesthood or a Religious Vocation? If you are interested in becoming a priest, sister, or brother, talk with Father Scott Jablonski. fr.scott.jablonski@btcatholic.us 2 PARISH, YOUTH & SCHOOL NEWS Catholic Schools Week - January 29 - February 4 Catholic Schools Week is coming up soon! Blessed Trinity Catholic School has a fantastic and fun filled week planned. Along with the activities we have a couple of fund raisers available as well. January 29, 2017 will kick off Catholic Schools Week with the students singing at the 8:00 am Mass at Saint Michael Church. The Knights of Columbus Council #6463 will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast in the School Gym from 8 am - 12:30 pm with proceeds benefiting the school. The School will host an Open House and Scholastic Book Fair from 9:00 am to 12:00 during the Pancake Breakfast. All are invited to attend. Students and families will celebrate several activities through out the week. The Week of activities will conclude Friday February 3rd with the Parish Fish Fry and Scholastic Book Fair during the Fish Fry. Blessed Trinity Catholic School is also launching a Super Bowl Sunday Papa Murphy's Pizza and Homemade Caramel Popcorn Sale! Order forms are available at the entrances of Saint Patrick and Saint Michael churches or or call the School to place orders at: rkallenbach@btcatholic.us or call ext. 6. Order's or order forms along with payment must be returned by Monday January 30th. Pick up will be Saturday, February 4th at the School. Time to be announced. Pizzas can be held until Sunday immediately following the 8:00 am Mass for anyone unable to pick up on Saturday. Blessed Trinity Council of Catholic Women - Ladies Night Out Blessed Trinity Council of Catholic Women invite all women of the parish to the annual Ladies Night Out on Monday, January 16th, 6:00 pm at Rex's Innkeeper (301 N. Century Avenue, Waunakee). The evening will include a family style dinner. The cost is $18 per person, payable in cash the night of the event. Please RSVP no later than January 12th to Kathy Sellner at kathysellner2@gmail.com or Please let Kathy know if you have any dietary restrictions or if you need a ride to the event. Sacrament Of the Anointing Of The Sick In observance of the World Day of the Sick and the commemoration of Our Lady of Lourdes, Blessed Trinity Catholic Parish will offer the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick within Holy Mass on Saturday, February 11 at 10:00 am at Saint Patrick Church, Lodi. All who are sick, elderly, facing surgery, or seeking the gift of God's healing are welcome to participate in the Sacrament, with the entire parish invited to join in prayer for those who are sick and for their caregivers. The celebration of the liturgy will be followed by a luncheon in the parish hall hosted by the parish Council of Catholic Women. Reservations are requested by Noon, Monday, February 6 to Cindy Fischer, x. 3 (cfischer@btcatholic.us). Blessed Trinity Scrip SCRIP is available in the main entryway at Saint Patrick after Mass today! Your purchases help support our Blessed Trinity Religious Education programs. Also, scrip sold at Saint Michael Church helps support Blessed Trinity Catholic School.
3 PARISH & COMMUNITY EVENTS Blessed Trinity Fish Fry At Saint Michael - Dane There is no Fish Fry in the month of January. Our next Fish Fry will be on Friday, February 3, See you then! Parishioner Birthday Breakfast Parishioners celebrating their 80th birthday or above during the months of January, February, March 2017 are invited, along with spouse, family member, friend, or care-giver, to our first quarterly "birthday breakfast" to be held Tuesday morning, February 21 in the parish hall at Saint Patrick Church, 8:45-9:45 am. Please respond by Wednesday, February 15 to let us know if you plan to attend and if you need transportation to Cindy Fischer, x. 3 (cfischer@btcatholic.us). Future breakfast dates are: May 16 (April, May, June birthdays), August 22 (July, August, September birthdays) and November 14 (October, November, December birthdays). Parishioners interested in helping with this "parish life" activity may contact Cindy to volunteer. 4 Community Outreach Opportunities *Recycle the Warmth: The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Madison, will conduct the area's 25th Annual Blanket Drive the weekend of January 27-29, seeking donations of new and gently used bedding (blankets, sleeping bags, sheets, and new bed pillows) to benefit folks throughout Dane County. The three Shopko stores in Madison will have a good-quality blanket available for an attractive sale price. Monetary donations are also appreciated. Please bring your donations to either parish church between now and January 30. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated. For more information visit svdpmadison.org/recyclethewarmth. *Blessings In A Backpack: You've read about it in the local newspaper; now it's time to learn how we as individuals and as a parish can support this new community initiative to assure children of nutritious food on the weekends when they are away from school. The program is set to begin in March. Join us as parish volunteers socialize with residents, play a few rounds of seasonal picture bingo and serve refreshments.
