O'Keefe Iowa District Master for the Fourth Desree th St. Urbandale, IA Dear Patrick, Please extend my deepest gratitude to the Knights of Columbus for their gift of $2,541 to be used for communication efforts within the Diocese of Des Moines. I am pleased to share with you that our Communications Office is maintaining traditional media through radio and our monthly newspaper, The Catholic Mirror, while tapping emerging communication tools such as online streaming video. Just last month, we offered our first diocesan workshop on social media. The room was filled with school administrators, faith formation leaders, deacons and others who wanted to leam how to effectively use social media in their ministries. Feedback from those who attended indicates they want to meet again for hands-on training to leam about these communication tools. Our Communications Office will have a seminarian interning this summer. This is a wonderful opportunity for seminarian Reed Flood to get a better sense of who we are as a diocese while at the same time bringing in a fresh, young perspective to help us with many communication projects.
