Re: New Diocesan Resolution Procedure As covered by Bishop Nickless at the recent Convocation, the College of Consultors is changing its procedures for the approving of parish resolutions. The new policy regarding parish resolutions is as follows: All new resolutions received by the Vicar General s Office will be forwarded to the College of Consultors as they come in, but these resolutions will be voted on and approved only once a month. The meeting to discuss and vote on these resolutions will be held following the monthly Presbyteral Council meetings, which are generally held on the 2 nd Thursday of the Month. For the consultors to have sufficient time to read and review the resolutions, only resolutions that are received by by 12:00 Noon on the Tuesday prior to the coming Presbyteral Council meeting will be voted on. Resolutions arriving past that time will be considered the following month. In months where there is no Presbyteral Council meeting, the College of Consultors will meet on the 2 nd Thursday of the month. 10 Diocese of Sioux City AMDG Memo To: All Priests and Deacons From: Fr. Shane Deman, Vocation Director Seminarian Poster Parish Bulletin Insert Greetings from the Vocation Office! National Vocations Awareness Week will be here before we know it, Nov. 5-11, Our office will be delivering the Seminarian posters and brochures Oct 23 rd - 24 th, or weather reschedule date. Oct 30 th, so you can insert the brochures into your bulletins for the Nov 4-5, 2017 weekend. Siouxland Serra Club members, deacons and deacon candidates will be making the deliveries for us again this year and we want to thank them for their willingness to drive to the four corners of the Diocese to deliver these materials. The goal with the posters and brochures is to introduce the current seminarians to all the parishioners of the diocese. These young men are working hard to discern God s call for them, and all prayers of support are welcome for these future priests. We will also have a few brochures delivered to the libraries/counseling offices of the schools. Perhaps putting a face to this vocation might light a spark in a young man who has had thoughts of priesthood and this could be the connection they need to reach out for more information in the discernment process. Thank you for your support of this project and if you have any questions please call the Vocation Office at
11 Office of Vocations To: From: All Priests, Deacons, DREs, Teachers, and Catechists Fr.
