Do you actually look forward to the Last Day? There are many things or events to which we look forward with anticipation. We may even say, I can t wait! for the day of graduation from high school or college; the wedding day; the first day on a new job. Yet we don t say that when anticipating major surgery or the dentist or the loss of a loved one. Today Jesus has us look forward to a reward laid up for us on that day. James chimes in, saying whatever our circumstances, the Christian faith enables us to live with the hope and light of our promised deliverance. Depression and Suicide Connie Strand, Pastor Paul Strand s wife, will present a program Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 6:00pm on Depression and Suicide at St. Paul s. She will address the symptoms of depression, and give local resources for treatment. Suicide rates in rural areas have risen recently, and often times go undiagnosed. Depression is an underlying cause. This program is sponsored by St. Paul s Family Life Committee. 5 ALTAR FLOWERS: Altar flowers are given to the Glory of God and in celebration of Bernice Hahn life by Alvene Gathmann and Wayne Vanderveen Volunteers Needed We are looking for volunteers to help set up and take down chairs and tables for funerals, weddings and other church events. If needed the Board of Trustees would call people on the volunteer list to help set up tables and chairs when needed. If you are interested please call the church office to be put on the list. SALUTATION LYF Our first meeting of the year is Sunday Sept. 30th, from 3pm-5pm at the Church. 5th grade 12th grade students are welcome. Our Bible Study topic is The Importance of God s Word. And we will be decorating cupcakes. Plan to get messy. The Adult Choir The adult choir starts rehearsing again on Wednesday, September 5th at 7:15P.M. The choir is open to anyone who likes to sing. You don t have to be a soloist to join. A choir is a blend of many different types of voices. We have lots of fun! Come join us as we begin another year. You are always welcome. Calling all coins! LWML Sunday will be Oct. 7. Pastor Wendorf will announce the total of our year-long congregational Mite Box collection on that day. But they did not continue doing it. 26Now two men remained in the camp, one named Eldad, and the other named Medad, and the Spirit rested on them.
