Anyone who is not yet instructed, in doubt or holds a differing confession and yet desires to receive the Sacrament is asked first to speak with a Pastor, Elder or Worship Assistant. The individual cups in the center of the tray (containing the amber color liquid) are prepared for those with concerns for alcohol consumption. Gluten free wafers are available in the container in the center of the tray. HYMN TO OPEN To Jordan s River Came Our Lord LSB 405 Please stand INVOCATION P In the name of the Father and of the T Son and of the Holy Spirit. C Amen. P Our help is in the name of the Lord, C who made heaven and earth. MINNESOTA CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS OF SINS P Brothers and sisters in Christ, if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. C But if we confess our sins, God, who is faithful and just, will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8,9 P Let us then confess our sins to God our Father... C Most merciful God, we confess that we are sinful and unclean. We have sinned against You and each other by what we think, what we say, and what we do and do not do. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbor as ourselves. We deserve only punishment for our sins. (A time for silent confession of sins) P For the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who gave His life that we would live, C Look upon us with mercy and forgive us our sins. Change us and make us new. Make all who are baptized in His name faithful in their calling as Your children and inheritors with Him of everlasting life; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. We receive the forgiveness of our sins and the strengthening of our union with God and with one another. As we trust His words and repent of our sins, we proclaim Christ s death until He comes. Holy Communion is a confession of our faith and we require that those who receive this Sacrament be instructed and share in the beliefs we hold.
