Not only has the daycare changed its name, but we are also in the process of relocating to the former Nazarene church. With this move we will be able to offer services beginning with infants, six weeks old. We will continue to provide services to two to five year olds, after school programs and summer programs. The Christian daycare allows our church to help spread the love of Jesus to these children. Again, thank you for your support. Lutheran Church representative to the Christian Ducks Learning Pond. Daniel Smith Altar Guild Yearbooks Altar Guild Members can pick up their yearbooks in the fellowship hall on the back shelf. LUTHERAN HOUR MINISTRIES (LHM) is pleased to announce that the Rev. Dr. Michael Zeigler of St. Louis, Missouri, has accepted a call to serve as Speaker of the Lutheran Hour radio program. Confirmation Class will start on Wed. Sept. 5, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. The Family Life Committee will meet Sept. 6 at 6:00 p.m. at the Church The Adult Choir The adult choir starts rehearsing again on Wednesday, September 5th at 7:15P.M. The choir is open to anyone who likes to sing. You don t have to be a soloist to join. A choir is a blend of many different types of voices. We have lots of fun! September 2, 2018 AS WE GATHER It has been said, The Church is never more than one generation away from extinction. This bold statement perhaps finds support in the admonition found in today s Old Testament Reading. There Moses writes this concerning the works of the Lord, Make them known to your children and your children s children (Deuteronomy 4:9). Each generation has the responsibility, and privilege, of passing on the works of God to the next generation. While much of this teaching happens in the setting of a local congregation, the Christian instruction that happens in the home, in our own family, is key. This teaching is always centered in Jesus Christ, the one through whom our Lord has worked the mightiest work of all our salvation. That same Savior promises that even the gates of hell will not prevail against His Church! LLL Retreat Camp CILCA Dr. Joel Biermann, professor at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis will share on the topic of What Lutherans really believe about the Two Kingdoms. Many have not explored what Luther himself taught about the realms. Come for a lively discussion. This topic for the retreat is sponsored by the CID LLL at Camp CILCA on September 8, The day will begin with registration at 8:30a.m. and conclude around 3p.m. The cost is $ 10 per person which includes the noon meal. (Thus he declared all foods clean.) 20And he said, What comes out of a person is what defiles him. 21For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. 23All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.
