There would be no Austin Baptist Church without your faithful service! I thank the Lord for our wonderful administrative staff. Christina, Rita, Jennifer, Karen, and Bill are the most capable, competent, and conscientious administrative personnel that you will find in any church in America. We have the very best serving us at ABC! I thank the Lord for our Facilities staff. Derek Tackett is the finest Facilities Manager you will ever find and he has a great team that serves under his leadership Chris, Justin, Josh, and Tony. Then, I thank the Lord for our super ministerial staff. We have a unique blend of staff members who are seasoned with years of experience David, Dodie, John, and Kim; while also having some of the most creative, energetic, and gracious younger ministerial staff members to be found anywhere in Matt, Kati, and Becky. Add to all of that our excellent weekday Preschool staff under the leadership of Robbie Walters, and our team of paid childcare workers: I thank the Lord for them as well. Put this all together and it leads me to thank the Lord for a great, great church made up of great, great people. I know you share that same gratitude to God. 8 PAGE 8 Adults on Mission (AOM): Hands On Missions for Men & Women! Refugees, Sojourners, Foreigners - At our AOM meeting on November 12, Sherwood Moffett shared what the Bible teaches about our attitudes and treatment of foreigners, and its relevance, especially towards those from Latin America crossing our border; Margaret Moffett shared the challenges facing refugees. Virginia Kreimeyer told us of Buckner International and the building of homes for refugees fleeing from danger in their homelands. Pray for: Emotional healing, their spiritual journey/ salvation, resettlement and obstacles involved, relationships, and for the children to overcome trauma and loss. Operation Christmas Child Update On Sunday, November 18, AOM members delivered 312 shoeboxes to Great Hills Baptist Church where they were then taken to the Dallas collection site to be shipped throughout the world. These Christmas shoeboxes will be the first gifts ever received by many children, and may be their first opportunity to learn of the gospel and how much Jesus loves them. The $9 donated with each box not only pays for shipping worldwide, but also for inclusion of the gospel story in each box and for training of local church members to share the gospel and follow up with the children and their families. This ministry has far-reaching effects for spreading God s Word. Thanks to all who helped fold, set up, stack, load and deliver shoeboxes, and for our church family s generosity! Continued on Page 9: Information on the Annual Missions Banquet and the Lottie Moon Week of Prayer and International Missions Offering! 5 Men & 2 Trucks Movers Norman Kittredge, Ken Porter, Bill Wilson, and Santos and Adrian Tovar loaded 19 cartons filled with shoeboxes for delivery to Great Hills Baptist Church. As part of their iserve Ministry, ABC Students assisted in packing shoeboxes on Sunday afternoon, November 18. To Learn More about AOM, please contact Betty Arrell or bettyarrell@yahoo.com

12 PAGE 12 Happy Thanksgiving! I have so much to be thankful for this year, and I will definitely spend a lot of time this week thinking and praying about all the things I have to be thankful for. Most of you may know this, but in March 2017, my sister and I went through a tough situation when our apartment burned down. We were very blessed in that our apartment did not get any fire or smoke damage, but unfortunately, it was flooded from the top down from the firefighters putting out the fire above our apartment. It was a very crazy and tragic experience to go through, and I sometimes still cannot believe it happened. I was so grateful in how the church supported my sister and me during that time. I felt so loved. After living at home with my parents for over a year, I can now finally say that Brittany and I will be moving into a new apartment! Yay! We are moving in this week and we are so excited. This experience has just reminded me of everything I have to be thankful for. I am thankful for my parents who let their grown children live with them for a year and a half. I am thankful for my amazing job. I am thankful to my wonderful church that has supported me ever since I ve been here. Mostly I am so thankful for a God who takes care of me. I never have to worry because He is in control! At The Porch Live: Austin, which is a young adult ministry that just started at ABC, the sermon last week was about fears and worries. One thing the speaker said that has stuck with me was, You cannot give control to God because you don t have it, He does. You can either have no control and worry, or you can have no control and have peace. God had control during the fire, and He has control now. He has always taken care of me more than I try to take care of myself. So, this Thanksgiving that is what I am going to think about: all the things the Lord has done for me and how thankful I am to Him. Have a very wonderful Thanksgiving, Everyone! KIDS WORSHIP NOVEMBER 25 Topic: Angels Visit Mary and Joseph Objective: Kids will learn that God uses ordinary people, like Mary and Joseph, and them! Key Passage: Luke 1:30-32 & Matthew 1:20-21 Memory Verse: A Savior has been born to you. He is the Messiah, the Lord. Luke 2:11b KIDS WORSHIP NOVEMBER 25 Topic: Mary receives a blessing. Objective: Kids will learn that the good news of Christmas pushes away our fear and worry. Key Passage: Luke 1:26-39 Memory Verse: And Mary said, My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior. - Psalms 136:1

13 PAGE 13 Thanks to all who purchased WorldCrafts at the Thanksgiving Dinner last week. You have helped artisans from all over the world earn a respectable living and learn about the salvation of Jesus Christ by purchasing $1, worth of unique gifts. Also, here are more photos of ABC students helping with the Operation Christmas Child shoebox preparations. Our Acteens and Student Ministry are service-and mission-minded young people. We should be proud of their efforts and tell them how much we appreciate their participation!
