At Our Lady of Grace Parish, we have several options available to you. A Mass Card is available for those recently departed with a Mass said in their memory or you can have a Mass said on an anniversary, birthday or special occasion of a departed loved one or friend. Weekday Mass stipends are $10 and the stipend for a weekend Mass with Music is $20. Located on either side of the Tabernacle are two Sanctuary Lamps. A single lamp can be lit in your loved one s memory for a week, Sunday thru Saturday, for a donation of $10. If you have any questions, please call the Parish Office at FROM THE PASTOR S DESK Dear friends, Sadly, I must announce to you the closure of Our Lady of Grace Preschool located here on the parish grounds effective September We have faced a declining enrollment and costs of subsidizing the preschool have become unsustainable over the last several years. The Preschool cannot be left to continue in the parish which is facing financial challenges. Our efforts must be focused on our core mission of creating a faith-filled and supportive community for our parishioners. Sincerely, Monsignor Martin P. Ryan, D. Min. Come to Me and Rest When I was a child, I was taught that Holy Mass was an obligation! Today I know that Mass is remembering the Holy Sacrifice of Jesus and The Meal of Remembrance when Jesus said Do this in memory of Me. If you believe in the Mass, you must be a people that welcomes those next to you! Make space for them to belong! Stretch out your hand and Welcome God s People! Inviting Our New Neighbors The summer is a time when many people come in to our neighborhood. Some people are visiting, and others are moving into the neighborhood permanently. Please welcome all who join us for Mass. Encourage them to leave us their name and address. They may use the Welcome Envelopes to help us contact them and invite them to join our faith community. Can you help spread the Good News? Have new families moved onto your street? Please complete the Good Neighbor sheets that are in the pews with the names and addresses of your new neighbors and put it into the collection basket or hand to an usher. We will send them a letter of welcome. Thank you for your help! Grandparents Day Please save the date, September 8/9, to celebrate Grandparents Day. We will have a special blessing for our parishioners on that day. The Growing Up Catholic Team invites all grandparents to bring their children and grandchildren to church on September 8/9 to assist in bringing God s Blessings on our Grandparents. For Catechists, Faith Formation Students and their Families to celebrate: Catechetical Sunday, Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018 at the 10:00 am Mass & The OLG Annual Parish Picnic Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018 Hosted by K of C Monsignor Mooney Council A Stewardship Moment for the Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time In today s Gospel, we hear that a number of Jesus followers left him because his message was too difficult for them to accept. In essence, they did not believe in him. He then asked the Twelve if they wished to leave as well. Peter responds by making a profound profession of faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior. The Twelve made a choice and stood by their choice, remaining loyal to their commitment to Jesus. A good question for our reflection might be this: Are we satisfied with the stewardship we exercise over our baptismal commitment? Are we just along for the ride? Are we keeping Christ in front of us as we make decisions about our daily activities? What is the quality of our stewardship? Join Our Choir Calling all singers! The Our Lady of Grace Music Ministry is thrilled to announce the start of a new choir season this September. We are looking for singers of any age group and any skill range to join our ministry.
