Parents should be registered and active members of the Parish. SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY: The Bride and Groom should call the Parish Office at least six months before the date of the marriage. Please bring recent copies of your Baptismal certificate. Those under 21 should not set a marriage date until Diocesan permission has been obtained. PASTORAL CARE OF THE SICK: We want to assist those who cannot celebrate Mass with us because of illness, age or handicap. If you or a family member desires to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Eucharist or Anointing of the Sick at home or in the hospital, please call the PARISH OFFICE. In the event of an upcoming surgery, call the Parish Office to arrange a mutually convenient time for Anointing. By LAW, hospitals cannot notify us when parishioners are admitted. If you or a family member is hospitalized, please notify us. PARISH MEMBERSHIP: We ask every member of the parish to be properly registered. All adults should have and use envelopes. New members need to register as soon as possible. All address changes should be given to the Parish Office.

PRESENTATION OF THE GIFTS: When a Mass is being offered for a deceased family member, please notify an usher before Mass starts, if you are planning on bringing up the gifts during the offertory. This will insure that there are gifts for each family to present when there are multiple intentions being offered. Additionally, the ushers may request your assistance with the gifts when a family member is not present. Thank you for assisting in this symbolic liturgical role. All Parishioners: Last chance to get tickets for Father Peter s birthday reception is September 10 th. The reception will be held on September 16 th after the 4 o clock Mass. The Rosarians are hosting the party and are selling tickets before every Mass until September 10 th. The price of the tickets is $10.00 with children under 12 years of age free. Eucharistic Procession for the Feast of the Exultation of the Holy Cross: Please join Schenectady churches and churches from the surrounding area on Thursday, September 14 th, for our 6 th Eucharistic Procession as we pray for religious liberty and the end of abortion. The Procession begins at 6pm from St. Luke s Church, 1241 State Street, Schenectady. Fr. Dominic Isopo, Pastor of St. Luke s Parish, will lead the procession, along with other priests and deacons. 5 St. Michael s Faith Formation News Director: Kathy Burns (518) ; (518) Here you will find Faith Formation announcements, news, important dates and reminders. Please feel free to tear this section off and post on your refrigerator! Fall registration for Faith Formation classes is now open. Classes will begin September 20 th, at 6PM for Grades 1-5, and at 7:15PM for Grades On September 20 th, Faith Formation opening day, all Faith Formation students and their parents are invited to join us for an Ice Cream Social in the Church Hall. This event is courtesy of Michelle and John Frainier. PLEASE REMEMBER A child must have 2 years of Faith Formation classes to make First Communion. Usually beginning in First Grade, with First Communion occurring in May of Second Grade. A child must have 3 years of Faith Formation classes to make Confirmation Usually beginning in Eighth Grade with Confirmation in the Spring of Tenth Grade. Confirmation Candidates must be 15 years old at the time of Confirmation. For those students in Grades Six to Ten who cannot attend on Wednesday evening due to school commitments, we are offering a Monday evening class which meets once a month from 6PM to 8PM.
