Job Opening for Coordinator, Formation of Youth & Young Adults (PT) at St. Raphael Parish Job purpose: St. Raphael Parish is looking for a PT Coordinator of Youth Ministry to assist our Pastor, Fr. Coughlin in providing opportunities for parish youth to encounter Jesus Christ in a loving and supportive community and to invite them into a personal relationship with him. Accomplished through a relational ministry model of accompaniment, walking with youth on their journey of ongoing conversion and discipleship, living the Joy of the Gospel together through active participation in the sacramental life of the parish, ongoing faith formation and service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Call young people to be disciples of Jesus Christ and draw young people into the life, work and mission of the faith community. Establish and set a vision of Youth Ministry for the parish based on relational ministry, forming Christian community around Faith, Fun and Service. Provide leadership within the parish and coordinate with other ministries that engage youth ie; Parish School, Religious Education, Music Ministry, Scouts, etc. Initial focus on Sunday evenings built around 5:00 PM mass, utilizing the parish youth center for activities and gatherings. Consistent presence on Sunday evenings. Maintain a strong prayer life, participate regularly in the sacraments, and attend an annual spiritual retreat. Support Confirmation preparation program Manage youth ministry budget QUALIFICATIONS: BS or BA degree in a relevant program in theology or religious education. Master s degree preferred. Certification in youth ministry from an accredited national program is required. 5 years experience in parish youth ministry. PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS: Ability to use a computer keyboard for up to 8 hours/day Ability to sit for up to 8 hours/day Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Scripture Study Course Fr. Hughes will offer a four week Scripture Study course on the Book of Psalms.
