February has been a busy and physically demanding month for me down here in Perth. From things like 5 am Island Breeze team workouts to get ready for outreach, to the luau we just had on the 20th of February, or even the 25k run-athon fundraiser I had at the beginning of the month. Each and every day it has been a challenge just to push on through exhaustion and physical lack of energy. Though, even through all of the tiredness, God has taught me so much about the necessity of going to Him for my energy and strength. I could easily just try and go through each day on my own, which at first, it would go ok. Eventually after time, we will come to point of revelation knowing that we can't do it all on our own. We come to the realization that God wants us to come to Him in EVERY situation, not just in those times that we need Him. It's in those times that we shift out of independence and solely into dependence on Him. That's the place we need to be. That's the place I want to be. As I continue, I want to talk about one of the most tiring things I have EVER done. At the beginning of February, I ran a 25k run-a-thon fundraiser for my next outreach with Island Breeze to South Korea and the Philippines. I remember the day that God spoke to me to do this. It was in one of base staff meetings and God told me, I want you to do a 25k fundraiser for outreach." My response was. No. I don't want to run

2 25k. That's crazy. I've never ran that far in my life. It's in those times that God brings those subtle convictions into our hearts. His response to my response was simply this. "How much do you want to go to South Korea and the Philippines and be a part of what I'm doing there?" Simply, how far are we willing to go to be a part of God's plan? How far is too far for us? It was at that point that I knew I had to do this. I'm so glad I did as well. It in those crazy times of trusting God and really stepping out, even if you don't know what's going to happen, that God truly blows you away. I want to tell you guys that from this 25k fundraiser, I, with God's help, was able to see over $3,000 come in from just this one fundraiser. It was amazing and so much fun to see how God provided. So, from my experience, my advice to you all, if it seems crazy, it may just be God speaking to you. To finish up the month, Island Breeze put on another luau fundraiser on base. This time, I was more prepared. I got to dance in close to all the dances this time and it was such a blast. God also continued to provide finances for our new accommodation building that will start to be constructed soon. From the one luau, we saw over $7,000 come in. Truly amazing. To finish up my letter, I just want to thank everybody for taking the time to read my newsletters. It means a lot. But even more so, the support that I get from people means so much to me. I would not be here if it wasn't for everyone back home. So once again I want to extend my biggest gratitude for partnering with me in the Great Commission. I hope that this letter encourages you. MEN S RETREAT April 8-10 th at Camp Carl in Ravenna. Reagan Sommers (brother to Kerry) will be our guest speaker. The cost is and due when you sign up. Deadline is Sunday, April 3 rd. MDS TRIPS Andrews, South Carolina - 3/28/16-4/1/16 (We need 3-5 people) In early October 2015, historic rains fell on an area of South Carolina stretching from Greenville to the coast, breaking dams, washing out roads and flooding many thousands of homes. The affected area was estimated to be 150 miles by 60 miles. MDS established a traditional project site in Andrews in January 2016 and continues to do flood repairs in the surrounding areas. Detroit, Michigan - 4/25/16-4/29/16 (We need 12 people) On August 11, 2014, six inches of rain fell in Detroit and surrounding communities in a short time, flooding tens of thousands of basements with storm water mixed with sewage. Residents who were unable to clean out their flooded basements are now having severe mold problems, causing respiratory problems for some persons living in these contaminated homes. Several volunteer agencies, including MDS, have cleaned out hundreds of basements since the flood. MDS continues to muck out basements as requests come in, and repair basements that are significant living spaces for families. AUTHOR BEVERLY LEWIS will be at the Lake Community Branch Library on Saturday, April 9 th at 10:00 a.m. Beverly is making an exceptional 22 stops through the state of Ohio in promotion of The Atonement, a stand-alone novel set in Lancaster County. Beverly will greet fans during the 10 day tour and sign The Atonement, along with other reader favorites. Registration is required by calling RECEPTIONIST/DATA ENTRY POSITION: Refuge of Hope Ministries, a Christian nonprofit rescue mission in downtown Canton, is searching for an experienced receptionist/data entry person to work part-time Monday through Friday from 8:00 am noon, with added hours possible as needed. The ideal candidate will be a good team player with strong computer skills (Microsoft Office proficiency preferred), excellent communication and organizational skills, be detail oriented, punctual, independent, dependable, and a selfstarter with a strong work ethic. He/she must also have excellent interpersonal skills, a pleasant phone manner, the ability to multi-task in a busy, diverse environment, and a heart for sheltering the homeless and feeding the hungry.
