2 OUR INVITATION Welcome to the fall Semester of MidLink and Milestones! As we begin to look forward to cooler weather (yes, it will happen!) and kids return to school, I hope you will consider taking a step in both MidLink and Milestones. MidLink is our Wednesday night event that draws 1,500 2,000 people each week to the Loop Campus. It s a great place to build community with others in our church and to enjoy all that MidLink has to offer classes, kids programming, fitness and a great meal in MidLink Café. Milestones, on the other hand, refers to the discipleship opportunities that you have Monday through Saturday. This semester, we have more than 50 classes to choose from with many different topics. I would encourage you to check out pages 6 7 for a list of classes by category. Either way, we d love to see you on Wednesday nights this fall and have you enjoy all that is the depth, the fun and the community of MidLink and Milestones! Enjoy the semester! Grow at Home A churchwide commitment to encourage spiritual growth at home personal devotions, Bible study, personal or family worship, etc. MidLink (event) Wednesday night gathering event to link Sunday to Sunday. Includes MidLink Café, NextGen programming, choir and worship rehearsals, fitness classes and a full slate of Milestones courses. Life Bible Study is a weekly, small group Gathering of the church, welcoming believers and seekers alike to experience Growing faith in Christ. Studying God s Word creates Christians who are committed to Giving away their lives by loving and serving those who need it most. Milestones is a framework for adult discipleship that extends beyond Life Bible Studies to equip people in a particular stage of life, crisis or in general discipleship. This is accomplished through semester-long courses, one-time classes and special events. MidLink is an evening of food and activities for all ages on Wednesdays, including Milestones classes, activities for kids and students, worship rehearsals and fitness classes. MidLink: connecting the body from Sunday to Sunday! Are you New to MidLink? The Link: The Power and Purpose of Prayer (Adult Bible Study) Not sure where to start on Wednesday night? Try The Link: The Power and Purpose of Prayer with Mike Lejeune. The Link is an adult Bible study which goes through a specific topic each semester. Feel free to drop in anytime and bring a friend! GROW AT HOME FOR NEXTGEN Grow at Home is a churchwide commitment to encourage spiritual growth at home. Beyond growing in Life Bible Study and Milestones, we believe growing at home is essential to true spiritual maturity. Imagine if, as a child, you had only grown physically on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights. That wouldn t be healthy. For parents, it is vitally important you have resources, training and encouragement to be a disciple-maker in your home. To help you, we have created the Parent Path. This path consists of classes, resources, seminars and conferences. Here are the opportunities available to you this spring: 1. Parent Classes Birds & Bees: Oh Help Me Please! (Parents of Children Birth K) This class gives parents a simple strategy to teach their children about the issue of sexual development in the preschool and early elementary years. For more information, see page 11. The Talks (Parents of Children 1st 5th grade) This course will focus on 15 key conversations, lay the foundation for talking with younger kids, and help your kids make wise choices regarding sexual development. Let s Talk Pornography (Parents of Students 6th 12th grade) A 6-week course for parents to openly and candidly discuss pornography as it relates to students and the effect it s having on our culture. For more information, see page Parent Conference ReFuel: Parenting with Purpose Sat, Aug 25, 2018 It can be difficult to grow up in such a non-christian culture. There are many narratives, particularly surrounding sexuality, that depart sharply from the Word of God. This workshop will help you navigate this journey with kids from birth through high school through a presentation by Axis Ministries. Through live and engaging presentations, learn more about the role of media, technology and culture and how they impact the sexual and gender views of kids. We focus on clear biblical teaching followed by real conversations around tables in a relaxed atmosphere. Since we know men are busy, we start promptly at 6:30a and wrap up at 7:30a.
