3 BEYOND THE WALLS Dear Church Family, The physical campus of Brushy Creek Baptist Church Taylors is beautiful. Beyond the buildings of Brushy Creek, however, are things even more marvelous... the people who comprise our church family. Nearly every person who calls Brushy Creek home does so because someone else invited them. Someone went beyond the walls of the church, began a relationship, started a conversation, and said, You should come to Brushy Creek with me this Sunday. As you meander the milieu of this magazine, note that we re not only asking you to personally be a part of things happening at Brushy Creek, but we re also hoping you will invite others. 5 family ministries Places to Connect Kids Ministry Loving volunteers teach babies through 5th graders about Jesus on Sundays at 9:15 & 10:45am, and Wednesdays at AWANA at 6:30pm, as part of The Greenhouse. Brushy Creek Kids check-in kiosks are located on the 1st & 2nd floors of the Education Building. Contact: Student Ministry Middle and High School students learn to identify and grow in their faith on Sundays at 9:15am in the ARC, Wednesdays at 6:30pm during the school year, and at special retreats and events. Teens struggling with their habits, hurts and hang-ups are encouraged to attend The Landing on Mondays at 6pm for a free meal and a safe place to talk. Contact: JeremiahO@BrushyCreek.org College Ministry Greenville-based and visiting college students gather weekly on Sundays at 9:15am in E307, as well as monthly for outside social and service events. Contact: BCBCCollege1@gmail.com Singles Ministry Young Professionals meet for fellowship and study Sundays at 9:15am in E319. Those are invited to visit the Connections Class in E320 at 9:15am. Womens Ministry Representing all ages and stages of life, our women gather for ongoing Bible studies, biannual retreats and fellowships, as well as unique opportunities to grow and serve. Contact: AngelaC@BrushyCreek.org Worship Ministry Do you have a heart for worship? Join the Worship Team as it leads us in praise Sunday mornings, and prepares for special holiday presentations. The Brushy Creek Choir & Orchestra rehearses on Wednesday nights at 6:45pm. Singers and musicians must audition for the Worship Band. Contact: TimB@BrushyCreek.org Senior Adult Ministry Active, caring and committed, the Senior Adult Ministry hosts on-going socials and studies, as well as service and travel opportunities. Contact: CindyM@BrushyCreek.org Deaf Ministry New and veteran ASL users sit together in the Worship Center and interpret services at 9:15am on Sunday mornings, and immerse themselves in all activities at Brushy Creek. 6 Join a life group The Best Way to Meet People Because life takes place 24/7, we call our Sunday School classes Life Groups. Members are there for you every day of the week not just Sundays. We have co-ed, all-women and all-men groups that are organized by general ages. Others are designed for specific stages in life, including Newlyweds/Nearlyweds, Young Marrieds, Middle, High School and College Students, and Singles. We also host classes that serve the needs of our deaf, international, and Hispanic speaking members. You ll find a list of Life Groups at BrushyCreek.org, or at our Visitor Kiosks and Member Services Desk in The Lobby. Education Minister Angela Carter can also help pinpoint what group may fit your needs. Groups meet at 8am, 9:15am & 10:45am on Sunday mornings on-campus, as well as for engaging events off-campus. The Greenhouse offers a wide variety of lifestyle classes and Bible studies. Sessions run six weeks each, so you can explore a variety of topics that interests you. Classes are open to all in the community. Session II will run October 10 November 14 AWANA Preschoolers and children enjoy games, group-time and God. Godliness Plus Contentment Students learn how to be content in Jesus. Mission Project Training Myanmar Team members delve into the tenants of Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam, as they learn the Burmese culture s do s and don ts. Parenting Through the Phases 936 weeks. How to make the most of the time you have from your child s birth though high school graduation. Turquoise Table Connect with people in your own neighborhood to build friendships and faith opportunities. Battle Plan for Prayer (Part 2) Take your prayer life to the next level. A Biblical Perspective of Israel Pastor Jeremy and Dr. Tony Crisp provide a Biblical tour of the Holy Land. Putting Paul Together (Part 2) The complete picture of Paul through his letters. ESL Strengthen your English in a warm, inviting environment. Spanish Bible Study Entire study will be taught in Spanish.
