A Biblical Portrait 7:00-8:30 pm This course is designed to help you grow as a current or potential leader. Each class will include Bible study as we dig into primary biblical images about leadership, practical applications and skill development. If you are interested in character development or leadership development, then give this course a try. 3 Exploring C O U R S E S FOCUS: Investigate God, belief, and personal faith. Learn to live your life in relationship with God. ANSWERING QUESTIONS, such as: Is it possible to have a personal relationship with God? Who is Jesus? Is He really relevant to day-to-day life? Can I experience forgiveness? How? If God is loving, why is there evil and suffering in the world? What s the point? What importance does my life have? ALPHA: What is the Point of Life? Thursday, 6:45-9:00 pm Ten-week series, Sept. 22 Dec. 8 ALPHA is a practical introduction to the Christian faith in a warm and friendly setting. Topics include: Is Christianity True? Who is Jesus? Can I be sure of my faith? Each evening is filled with laughter, interesting conversation, a delicious dinner, and a stimulating talk. Richard Rhodes Militia Drive, Room 105 ALPHA: What is the Point of Life? Sunday, 9:30 (begins Sept. 25) ALPHA is a practical introduction to the Christian faith in a warm and friendly setting. Topics include: Is Christianity True? Who is Jesus? Can I be sure of my faith? Come and talk with other people who have traveled the same spiritual journey, and learn more about what it really means to be a Christian. Each 1 hour class is filled with a brief talk and open, stimulating dialogue. Bob Fantasia & Team Worthen Road, Room 7 New Believers Sunday, 9:30 The course focuses on teaching the basic essentials of the Christian faith. Emphasis is on God s Word about His Son, the Holy Spirit and living out our faith as fellow believers. The course is a sanctuary of teaching, love and life for the new believer, where he/she can share prayer requests and learn the teachings of the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, and how best to incorporate faith into our every day lives. Wendy & Rink Jacobi, Carol & Doug Mostrom Worthen Road, Room 6 Beta Thursday, 7:00-9:00 pm (begins Sept. 29) The goal of Beta is to understand the basic message of the Bible based on portions of the book of John, from the teachings of Jesus Himself. Each person will be able to examine the text and participate in a joint discussion of its meaning. This study will be conducted at a beginners level; no previous knowledge of the Bible is necessary. Enjoy a delicious lunch and meet other newcomers and lay leaders. This luncheon is also the first step in joining Grace Chapel. In this interactive class, we ll explore the Seven Secrets to Healthy Marriages, discuss differences between what men and women desire in marriage, and describe the important boundaries that make for healthy relationships. The class will look at Jewish history, Jewish culture and practices, the Jewish holidays, Jewish teaching, Rabbinic literature, Jewish worship, the sacrificial system and the Temple. Buddy Shephard & Team Worthen Road, Room 7 Suffering and Glory in the Life of God s People Sunday, 11:10 A seven week study of what the Bible teaches about suffering, sickness and glory. We will look at passages that address these issues as well as some that have been frequently misinterpreted.
